Its Saturday so Talk on, Brenda and I are starting the thriead!!!!!
Yeah Margo, the US 12 (old Salk Trail) garage sales were last weekend......the hottest days we've had all summer = of course!
I understand there is another place in the U.S. that claims the longest garage sale ......for the life of me I can't remember where it is tho'. I think it goes from north to south through quite a few states.
Pat
PS sorry the showing didn't work out last evening....

morning all!
i am up and need to start getting ready for the memorial service for alexa- the three of us gals are meeting in a parking lot to drive in one car to the other co worker's house- he's serving donuts- oh joy- just what i can have ! and then we are going to the service in his car--i think it's going to be outdoors from what i am piecing together and we are to wear bright colors etc- so i will wear my sundress (it's got this color in it) that i bought for panama and didn't wear--carla saw it--then i am thinking some retail therapy and i have to pick up a bag of books from a freecycler's porch....
i wanted to absolutely cry last nite-there were no tears tho--have you ever felt that something was so right-absolutely gonna happen and be wondermous????
we were ready for the showing at 5pm--the folks were prompt-actually a few minutes early-and we greeted them outside- i loved them both immediately-and we talked- we started out talking about the lot lines cuz there are some special sitautions with them-they were ok about all of that---then came the bombshell--the empty soon to be built upon piece of property directly to the south of us--the man who owns it and his daughter and son in law cost us the sale--the prospective buyer has known him for about 30 years and absolutely will not live next to him...he was a banker in a diff town and she had a biz for 21 years--ouch--and the sil is an ass on her list...(remember we are in a village of under 500 ppl!) and he and his wife and daughter basically run the village....i absolutely cannot explain how crushed i was...well we showed the house anyhow- she was thinking maybe she had friends--
after they left and we had hugged i went in the house and sat--had a large glass of beer and went to bed for awhile.....
now- michael had noticed the young guy (1st looker) go by right before they showed up to look--he had slowed down but didn't pull in...i wish he would make his offer.....
and as susan mentioned yesterday the law of averages should kick in soon??? ok- 1 solid showing per week each of the 4 weeks on the market....
ok- i'll stop about this for now!!!
i'm sure some of you are tired of it--
not sure what the rest of our weekend holds- weather is sposed to be hot but nice...
cleaning and packing i am sure- i can relate to jan's comment about how things multiply after you pack a box!!!! where DID all this stuff come from????????
hugs and prayers..carla wishing you safe flight!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hi Margo,
Sorry to hear about the situation within the showing last night, that really is so sad. Margo, I truly hope and believe that something will come through for you, just hang in there and believe with your whole heart that you and Michael are meant to be in the sunny, warm sunshine of Hawaii so sisters like me have a beautiful place to come and rest our heads from time to time. . .
Thanks for the kind remarks about my Dillinger story, I was able to snuggle up with him and go back to sleep for a couple of hours and now I'm off to start some work around this old house of mine.
I will keep praying and hoping for you to get a buyer for that house of yours!
Hugs, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Margo, I figured out what happens in the darkness of the closets and such with the stuff we have....it all procreates and then that is where all the stuff comes from that we never knew we had. We never had it in the beginning so technically that makes us NOT pack rats. It took me a while to figure that one out but hey...I can reach for anything...even when there is nothing to reach for.
I tried to reason something out with my Pastor and he said to me "You are reaching, Brenda" and I said that a lot of people tell me that. But then when you are desperate you have nothing to do but to reach. I am desperate most of the time I guess.
I am going to start swinging Misty for your showings. I figure she will say some prayers to the Kitty in the Sky that she has as a higher power and maybe something will begin to happen. She is going to say prayers to Mighty Kitty simply because she is going to get so dizzy that she has no other choice. I swing good and hard when this arm gets to moving!

Well, I got bad news yesterday. After the bank appraiser went thru the house and told me she thought it was very nice, she appraised it at $3,500 under what we sold it for. We thought our buyers were getting a steal from us. Now, I'm not telling Gary about it until I hear back from the realtor and see what kind of creative stuff he can come up with. I know Gary won't lower the price $3,500 even though we're practically all moved out. My realtor says we're almost there and he's not too worried that we can't work something out. We may have to split the difference with the buyer tho. I'm pretty bummed. I'm sick and tired of packing, and now most of the stuff needed to be packed is the stuff like in the junk drawers, the silverware drawers, the laundry room cupboards, the bathroom drawers...mostly all little stuff that I could just pull out the drawer and dump into a box and sort at a later time, but I don't want to spend all my fall going through boxes. I'm getting too old for this crap.
Carla, I'd love to stowaway in your luggage and go to Denver. My girlfriend lives in Littleton and I love it out there. Oh wait, she's coming to Michigan next week, nevermind!:)
Well, I'd better finish my carbmaster yogurt and get the ol girl out for her walk before it gets too hot.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I must be getting better......I'm on a cleaning frenzy this morning and I'm already sweating (sorry TMI). House hasn't been properly cleaned since my cleaning angel was here three weeks ago. Have the washer and dryer going early as it's going to be very hot here today.
Have had my carbmaster yogurt and taking a rest from mopping floors......gosh that mopping makes my back hurt! But everything looks and smells sweet and fresh.
Will relax in the a/c the rest of the day and watch the PGA Championship Golf from Minnesota....Tiger is in the lead.
Stay cool wherever you are and have a lovely weekend.
