Good Morning All!!
It's Sunday & day for church & praise The Lord day for me. I also went to bed fairly early last night, for me & up early always. Took the puppy for a walk ( dog sitting) for
a friend who is in the hospital. (This puppy is 8 mo. old & lot of energy, get me out of
the house even in the heat. This is a good thing.)
We went to visit on Friday & very glad I am not in any
hospital. She is not doing real good, but, stable. Problems with liver & she has a bubble of some kind in her brain that is causing internal bleeding. If it starts again, she
could bleed to death. So they will most likely have to go in surgically and remove the
pressure to prevent any further bleeding. Her name is Laura & is in  Las Vegas Sunrise Hospital. Those of you that have a prayer list, please add her name to it for me.
Appreciate it.
Go out & make it a great day!!
Love & prayers sent to you!!

Marilyn, consider Laura added to my list of prayer concerns. Please let us know how things go for her.

Good morning to you, Julia and my OFF siblings..I hope that today is good for everyone.

Julia and I am so glad that you made it through the first week back to work. Now you are back in the groove and it should be easier...says the woman that is a domestic goddess...and I get up when the mood strikes most of the mornings.

Bill is still in the hospital but doing better. They took him for a short walk in the last night and then checked his oxygen level and it stayed at 95-96% so that is good. I am think that the doctor might discharge him today but then again....that is suppose to have happened several times these past 5 days so who am I to say? But then again..who am I to say to begin with? I am not a doctor that is for sure. He did have some chest pain last night after washing up in the bathroom and so they took a EKG and that turned out good...which we knew it would since he has had this pain before and it turns out to be just the lung irritation from what I am told.

Nothing much is happening here today. I am sitting here with a bit of pain in my tummy from the wound. The I.D. doctor said that she thought the pain that I feel every now and then is just the healing. I have heard that sometimes pain comes from healing. I feel good pretty much all the time now and I thought that would never come to be again. I felt so bad for so long that I never thought that I would feel anything different than that ever again. Boy, am I glad that I wrong...opps..that is mistaken..about that. Sometimes I forget that I am never wrong...just mistaken at times...but not often that either. ha ha

The weather is hot and humid again...is there anything other than hot and humid anymore? Brother am I tired of that stuff. I want some nice cool breezes and cooler temperatures. I don't think that is to much to ask for but I guess it is. I guess winter weather will be here before I know it and then I will be asking for the hot weather again.

I guess I should get going. I know that I am ready for breakfast...but I am not sure what I want. I think oatmeal with a cut up peach in it. That is sooo good.

I am sending love and hugs to you all and prayers are being said for everyone too. Have a great Sunday and don't forget to smile...it brings back happiness to all of us.

Today I am washing blankets and taking our big winter comforter and quilts to the big laundry mat where I can wash them in the huge washing machine.  Then, I'm spending the day doing as little as possible.

Yesterday, I wasn't feeling well, but we had to get my grandson's school supplies and his school clothes so we ran to the mall and got his jeans and shirts and over to wally world for his school stuff and underwear and socks.  I also bought the baby girl some new outfits and more tees and shorts.  She loves sleeping in the cotton versus the silky or fuzzy jammies.  So, I bought up the little cotton shirts and shorts that were marked down to 2 bucks.  She has enough pjs for a month without worrying. LOL.

Then, daughter calls and grandson burned his foot so we ran to the pharmcy for zinc and antibiotics and wraps and took everything down.  I looked his foot over and it wasn't that bad, so I told her to keep it clean and wrapped.  I also told her to put shoes on him if there is fire in the yard.  They were burning some grass and tree clippings.

So, today, it is rest and relaxation. Oh, we got the new kitty.  She is barely old enough to wean but if I didn't take her, she was going with another woman, so I snatched her up.  Needless to say, Ginger, our big girl, is very upset.  We have the new kitty in isolation until I get her to the vet and tested for all the contagious stuff, but Ginger can hear her meowing.  Plus, I am spending a lot of time in the back bedroom.  LOL

That's it for me.  Have a great day.

Good Morning all....
Had a nice quiet relaxing start to the day.
The weather has cooled off just enough that it is nice sitting out on the lanai in the morning.  I love being outside enjoying nature.

My SO is driving me crazy, not sure how much more I can take.  Too long a story to bore you with.....

We got 1/2 the new patio furniture set up last night......I love it.....looks great.......very comfy!

Going to pick up the new John Deere rider mower this afternoon (have to rent a truck to move it).  I had a craftsman at my last house (1.2 acres) I loved it.  We really don't need one for this little piece of property but we got a great deal on it.

Hope you all have a great day and I hope I can muster up some extra patience today.

So, did I miss it?  Are you staying in the ranch house w/pool or the waterfront house w/stairs?  Sounds like you're settling in.

Good Morning Julia,

I've been retired from teaching for several years and I still get a shocked feeling when I see the "back to school sales" that start about the end of July! We have a group of retirees from our building who have a "neener-neener" lunch on the first day of school.

We planted a tall, slender quaking Aspen in our side yard yesterday. I love to listen to the sound of their leaves. It's little now but hopefully within a few years it will be tall, slender and shade the sunny side of our covered deck.

Our weather has been much cooler the past week or so but will heat up again later this week. That's ok. We're headed to Ocean Shores on the Washington coast for a few days the end of the week. We'll go see the babies on Wednesday, spend two nights there and then on over to the coast. Hopefully the kids will be able to join us for at least a day and a night.

I have my physical on Tuesday with my PCP. I didn't go to my WLS this year. It's so expensive, in Seattle and my insurance won't even cover the labwork. I really like my PCP and trust her. I've had a Dexascan, Mammogram, she'll do my "female" exam and go over my lab results. My gynecologist of 25 years died last year and I haven't found anyone to replace him yet. So for now my PCP will get to do the "honors."

Not much else going on in my world. Heading out to the gym in a few minutes after taking Maggie for her morning walk to do her duty. She usually makes it to the entrance to the trail but sometimes stops and squats on a pile of rocks or the side of the road. We collect the treasure and get a good walk in. It's a warmup for me about 1/2 mile but for her little legs it's a good walk. She needs to trim down a bit; too much time with "Dad" when I'm gone. He thinks if he's eating that she needs to: I think way too many McDonalds stops. He gets a double burger and lets her have one of the patties. . . and she can eat a whole one. This is a 5 lb dog! At home she just eats about 1/4 cup of kibble twice a day at most!

Hope you all have a good one.

UPDATE to previous posting.......

My prayer for extra patience was not answered.  Think I'll be flying solo from now on........ not sure if I feel like   or    or    .  or or maybe I'm just numb.

It's going to be a loooooooooooong afternoon and sleepless night I'm sure.  OH well......gotta go do some thinking and figuring out a few things.

Hi everyone
I watch the ads on TV for the "back to school sales" and feel my body get tense!!  The ads always show children looking very unimpressed with the fact that they are going back to school.  What about the teachers??    I think that there should be ads showing how we teachers are feeling stressed out with the end of summer and the impending overload of work, meetings with students, classes to prep for and hours of class time.  I get nervous just thinking about it!!  LOL  I start back to work on August 31 and begin to teach Sept. 8.  Where did the summer vacation go?
I saw my WLS surgeon for the final time, before surgery, last week.  He still can't give me a date for the surgery.  I spoke with someone else in his office and she said that the surgery will "not be in the next two months, but this year".   That didn't make me very happy.  I have been in this process, albeit with different surgeons, different situations, for 14 months.  I am a patient person, but I really did want to go back to the college with a specific date for my chair to work around.   I can't do anything about this, but it doesn't mean that I don't feel bad about it.  I may send flowers to the surgeon's office hoping that they will think kindly of me if a spot opens up sooner.

And, my surgeon is telling me that he can't do the VSG because the RNY is the "standard of care" in Ontario, and unless there is a very clear reason not to perform the RNY, he won't do the vsg.  I wasn't prepared for this discussion with him as he told me at out first meeting that I could choose between them. I also forgot to emphasize to him that I have degenerative disc disease in my back and arthritis in several joints.  I take ibuprofen (several at a time) for my back.  I don't know how I will cope if I can't find something to ease the pain in my back.

Tomorrow, I have a stress test, the thought of which is stressing me out!!  My sister died of congestive heart failure in June - I miss her and think about her so much - and  I saw my GP and asked for a stress test.  Now, I'm quaking in my boots just thinking about the physical aspect of the test and the results.  Think of me tomorrow at 1:40 EST when I will be at the specialists office looking like a fool on the treadmill.  I may ask for the nuclear stress test so that I won't have to get on the treadmill; however, we are apparently out of isotopes in Canada  -  huh?   The nuclear reactor was leaking heavy water and had to be shut down.   Good God - who is running things?  Not having an abundance of isotopes may mean that I won't be able to have the less stressful stress test.
So, that's it for me.  Why isn't anything ever easy??  LOL
Have a great Sunday.  Love and hugs to anyone who needs them.

It looked like the plane was over packed. I had another hr till my flight. But I did get a seat on the earlier flight that had boarding issues. But it did leave a little earlier.
