What's New Revue - Monday morning coming at ya!
I have an iTouch - great, but it's not the phone. i have a verizon phone. I don't like AT&T but I am salivating about the iPhone - just not enough to change carriers.
Once upon a time I designed wireless cell phone systems and managed startup systems in California and Florida. That was a first career when I was young and moved all over the place.
Now I'm an old fart, just like you.

And it's just fine with me. Although, I really wish I lived nearer my daugher and grandson.
That is my biggest regret.
Hubby and I tried to stay cool last night - our AC stopped working and is still not working. We supposedly have a HVAC guy coming out sometime between now and 2 PM.
August in South Florida is NO time or place to be without AC!!!
Margo, hope things go well with Michael's test today. I don't envy him....EEEEEKKKKKK And, if I may add to the list of complements, you look wonderful! I LOVE the new avitar!
Annette, hope you're feeling better. You didn't say much on your post, so maybe that means you're resting???
Pat R....Again, congrats on your surgiversary!
Judy, so sorry Rick's still out of work. Hopefully something will come his way soon.
Brenda, wow....you've had some rough spots, haven't you? Please take care of yourself, and Bill, too!
Hugs to everyone else!
I'm still in jammies....1:00 now. Started straightening up the kitchen, and now I've scrubbed, mopped, cleaned cabinets, threw out old spices, and even cleaned the INSIDE of the dishwasher and both the coffee pot and espresso machine. Now I'm sitting with a latte catching up with my friends. Guess the next step is to go shower and finally get dressed. Didn't see much sense in doing it before, would just get grimey all over again.
For any of you who are thinking about recruiting me to help at your house......SORRY!!! LOL Love ya, but NO...

Susan
I'm on here really late today. I spent Sunday in the Chicago area for my oldest brother's 60th birthday ... I told him he will always be older than me ... well, all of them will because I'm the youngest. I don't think he appreciated that. Anyway, we all had a good time. I had planned to wrap at least the book on beer I got him from the book sale, but on Saturday realized I didn't have wrapping left (other than Christmas paper). I thought about going to Walgreens on the way in to pick up my mom, but then decided to be cheap about it and not wrap anything ... the beer and the book. Oh well, it's just paper.
We had a nice time. It was great seeing my family ... I haven't seen everyone since Easter. My brother got a big screen TV ... something like 54-inch ... wow, it's huge! I wouldn't need my glasses to see anything on that TV. And my grandnephews are so much fun. Sammie starts kindergarten on Wednesday ... just a half-day Wednesday, but then full days later. His dad, Matt, says he expects to get phone calls every day about things Sammie says. That little guys is quite the comedian. He had us in stitches. He and Ben insisted they wanted to try Grandpa's coffee (my brother Ed) ... so first Sam tried some ... "oh yuck, this is horrible." He had to several big swigs of Coke. He's used to drinking his dad's coffee, which is mostly cream and sugar, with a little coffee mixed in. Then Ben was going to try it, too, with the same reaction, of course. Ben went into the bathroom ... and Sam said he was drinking toilet (meaning toile****er). We all broke up at that. I was laughing so hard ... I had a headache at the time and my face was hurting from laughing, tears were rolling down my face I was so laughing so hard. You had to be there. The expressions on their faces were priceless. I wish I had brought my camera.
Even my sister, who's usually so crabby, was in a good mood, and she's already back at school (she's a P.E. teacher and volleyball coach in the fall/softball coach in the spring). My brother Gary told us he will be losing his job in November now, plus he may be losing his apartment because his landlady wants to sell the house; his friend Bruce is nearing the end of his life ... Gary is going to Texas to see him at the end of the month. I hope he makes down there before Bruce goes. I know how hard it is to lose a friend without being able to say goodbye.
I was supposed to see Brenda today but when I called her, she was in pain from her fall and she forgot ... well, I understood. So I stopped at Starbucks in Portage anyway and got coffee, then kept going and got home about 2. Talked to my friend Roxane, who had called this morning ... she was cleaning house with her two kids (how fun!). She is doing better after her bout with Lyme, low thyroid and B-12 deficiency, but says her joints still ache a lot ... the doctor told her that takes up to a year to resolve. Ouch! Now she knows how I feel.
George, the Sox did OK with two of three but blew that last game in Oakland. I don't see them doing much with Contreras as one of their starters ... Buehrle, Danks, Floyd are good, but there's no good No. 4 pitcher in there.
Well, I've babbled on long enough. Storm clouds are moving in again. It stormed in Chicago yesterday and that's why I had a headache ... I have a little ache in the back of my head by my right ear ... I've had that all day driving home.
Talk to y'all tomorrow.
I hate shopping and spent way too many hours trying to buy something today. I hate it. Waste of time. I'd much rather be doing just about anything. Wish I had a personal shopper to pick it out, bring it home, and help me make decisions! Don't even want to talk about how unsuccessful I was. Trying to buy a couple of simple things for the upcoming trip to Italy in about 6 weeks. I'm more tired than after a strenuous workout at the gym which I did not do today.
Good news tho. My travel agent at AAA got us a FULL refund on our airfare from the aborted April trip to Italy. My friend had serious surgery and our travel agent just kept writing letters, sending documentations from the doctors et****il it came through. Saved us each about $250.00 in airfare. . . . plus, drum roll please! The airfare is cheaper now than it was in April. $770.00 each round trip from Seattle to Milan, Rome to Seattle. . . Now if she could just figure out some way to cut the travel time in half~~
I'm tired I need a rest. Have a good one all. Most of you have your work day in I suppose as it's 4pm out west.
