Just wanted to come out of lurkdom and say hello ...

I'm at the tail end of the testing - only the sleep test left and then it's off to the insurance for approval. I hope to have my RNY sometime in October.  (Have to wait until hunting season is over!)

My 23 yo daughter had RNY last week;  it will be interesting to see how much faster the young'un recovers!  LOL

Hi Newbie!  A great big New Orleans welcome to you.  It sounds like you're well on your way.  How great that you and your daughter can share your journeys even if you have to wait until after hunting season.  I take it your husband is the hunter?  Mine too!  When we first married, he told me to schedule any babies around hunting season - I think he was kidding!  I don't hunt, but I do fish with him.  If you can't beat them, join them!  Keep us posted on your progress.

Wishing you all the best!

Hello and welcome to OFF. If you ask me you have landed on the most wonderful forum that OH has to offer. There is so many caring and loving people here that is just waiting to help and chat with you.

If you have any questions we have a lot of knowledgeable people here and they will offer any help that they can. If it is friendship that you are looking for then you hit the jackpot there too....we offer that above and beyond what others do. We consider us a family which means that even though there might be some disagreements there is always love there.

Please post often so we can get to know you and join in on our chats that we have each day...the what's new thread that someone starts each day. There we post what is up with our life, what we are planning on doing for the day and what has happened recently. We pull up a comfy chair and a cuppa our favorite whatever and just sit and share. Then each day Linda S. starts the thread of what we are eating and what is eating us. There we put down what we are eating...whether it is yesterday or today. It just depends on what is more comfortable for you. I use to put down what I was eating that day and then it just got to be to much for me and now I post what I ate the previous day. What ever works for you is the most important thing.

Glad to see you out and about now in OFF Land and make sure you pop in so we get to know you.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

welcome a-board
hang on -it's a wonderful ride!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

If your daughter is like my son, she will be up and running before leaving the hospital.  Plus, they lose weight so much faster, or my son did.  In a year, he lost every single ounce that he was suppose to and he started out at well over 400 pounds.  He is down to 195 and is 6'5".

So, welcome and good luck on your approval.  It is so different for each of us.  Mine went in and that next day, they called and said, approved.  Others, though, go through hell and back to get their stuff done.  I had my surgery in October and it was a good month to be redesigned.  It was cool, even cold and that made getting out and walking easy.
