morning linda....i sure hope that you caught that UTI early!! my sister waited to long and has it through her whole body!!! been treating it now for over a month and its back again and she is in hospital for atleast 2 weeks again on iv antibiotics.

well i am falling off the wagon once again it seems...i will be truthful here because i want to be held accountable!!! why am i falling back into old habits that are not good??? last night i was watching tv and got up to get the potato chips...i sat there and ate and ate like no tomorrow!!!! i am paying for it today with the "runs" but damit!!! why am i doing this to myself???? i never got to be a "small" person but i DID make it to under 200 pounds ...my goal...and now the dam scale is creeping back up near the 200 mark again!!! WHY????? i love my life here with rick and my job....the only real stress is not having money for bills and play time...the bills get paid by the skin of my teeth but still the stress is sooo overwhelming to me!!!! i can eat and eat and i am so close to overeating again like before surgery it scares the hell out of me!!!! what do i do??? call my WLS and ask to have my pouch opening made smaller?? can i just stop eating again?? start all over again and the pouch will "shrink" so i can't eat so much??? i am scared that i will be way obese again!!!! i feel fat again and i see myself fat again!!!! any help here will be taken with much gratatude...

here is what i plan on eating today...

b. coffee with creamer, french toast sf syrup

l. tuna sandwich, pickle cucumber and green pepper

d. steak salad with chipotle dressing

s. fruit probably watermelon and some cottage cheese

water and more water

I'm having the same problem.....  in order to get out of the bad habit routine I had to change my pattern.  If I sit and watch TV..... I eat.

 I NEED to keep something handy to do.  I sew, hate hand sewing but will do it if I have to and now I have to.   I NEED to keep healthy snacks on hand. I promise myself to eat them first.  After they are eaten I'm too full to eat anything else.   

Lately I've been chunking cucumbers, soaking them in salt, vinegar & ice.  It makes a crunchy snack and the vinegar/salt combo helps cleanse the palate.  

The real problem is the routine.... eating was that for me...  not hungry but ate anyway.

thanks millie!! sorry i am not alone here with this binging problem!!! i DO have the GOOD snack foods on hand...but why eat those when i have chips, popcorn and fritos here...sighs...guess i will have to stop buying them for rick (and i am the one that eats them!!!). i DO keep my hands busy when watching tv...i do word search puzzles...maybe that isn't enough...i need to find something else for me to do i guess...sighs.

Judy,

some of the people on the other boards are talking about a depression med that also takes away the desire to eat.  WLS surgeons are giving it to those wls patients who started gaining back some of their weight.  I don't know the name of it, but I'm sure on the main board you can find the name. 

My biggest suggestio to you is to not buy chips and other snack food that glides right down.   I know you feel you need to provide snacks for the rest of the family, but you should put yourself first and just buy healthy foods that are not going to glide through.  Apples and bananas and cucumbers and celery are cruncy, well not the banana, and will satisfy the need to eat while watching TV.  Before I began having so much trouble with too much weight loss, I kept nuts in my house and before I ate them, I counted out the amount that I could have.  There are a lot of cheap snacks that you can eat. Plain saltines with cheese or plain saltines with peanut butter.  Again, much better than chips. 

You can snack, just redisign your snack food.

thanks for posting to me jeannie!!! i guess i will stop buying the bad snacks for rick...heck its ME that eats them not him....sighs....the only thing i am depressed about is him out of a job and nothing coming in from unemployment!!! if he doesn't get his due pay from them soon we are sunk!!! maybe i should get some of those depression pills...how do i find out what they are?? what boards are talking about them?? duh...you said the main board...sighs....

Judy,do not buy the chips. It's like a drunk buying booze just in case. I bet Nic would not mind.

thanks linda!!! i will NOT buy the chips or any other bad snacks again for the house!!! i went to the store and bought crispy veggies for me to snack on!! so if rick wants a snack of chips or anything bad he can buy them!!!

Hi Judy,
I seem to remember George or somebody telling those who want a crispy chip-like snacks to microwave pepperoni slices.  It's protein and crispy.  I think you put them on a paper towel and nuke em for 10 second intervals until crispy.  Maybe you try that instead.

hi bev...yeah i do nuke the pepperoni for crispy chips...hard to find the turkey ones tho that are lower in fats and have more protein i guess can't remember right now lol but yes i eat those alot!! thanks for the idea tho!!!

Judy,I finished the antibiotics and am drinking lots pure cranberry juice and water. I never had this before,thanks for the concern babes.
