So i went to my PCP today for the results of abnormal Pap test. & what I got was
possible ciist that might be cancer might not. So am seeing a GYN next week for further
testing and byopsy on these small cists to see what if anything needs to be done.
More docs, Oh goody. Just what I need. So not really any answers just more worries
in my already complicated life.
Just take a day at a time and deal with whatever is found with the new Doc next week.

Sometimes in the darkest of times that is all I can remind myself - take it one day at a time; do the next right thing and so on...

Trite but true sayings.

Also, you don't know what the doc is going to say now or what the tests will show.  Another trite but true saying is "don't borrow trouble."

My thoughts are with you.

I wouldn't get too worried right now ... I get cervical polyps all the time and they are always benign (in fact, I had one removed a few weeks ago ... I like to refer to them as "Mr. Polyp" how dare he invade me!) I did some reading on polyps and cysts today (since I now have to have a hysteroscopy on my uterus) and it alleviated a lot of my fears.

Thanks Eileen,. That helps my head a lot. Afterall this is the first Pap I have had in 4 yrs. (I no bad Me)
I think these cists have been there for some time & nothing has been done. I no that a year or so ago I was having some normal female over 50 type
problems & they actually thought I was pregnant at 54 yrs old. Very scary, but, was told is was caused by menopause stuff. When they checked back then I had a couple
of cists & they did nothing with them. My PCP just wants to be sure they are nothing
& removed before they become something. I like the Mr Polyp name.

My gyne is very aware of anything in my uterus because of my history of obesity (she knew me when, and is very proud of my progress ... in fact, her staff had to weigh me on what I referred to as the "horse scale" instead of the "normal scale" ... I was marched through one office into the next with a gown on to get weighed ... how embarrassing! It made me want to have WLS even more ... it was in the year that I was waiting to have it). Because we were obese, our hormones were out of whack; we produced too much estrogen; cancers feed on estrogen. She, therefore, checks me every year for everything ... and cancer of the ovaries runs in my family (aunt on my father's side had it, and ovarian cancer is closely related to colon cancer, which my father died of ... btw, aunt had ovarian cancer at 60, grapefruit sized tumor, she is still alive at 91!)

I seem to produce these polyps, but am convinced they are noncancerous after four years of her removing them and testing them, but I never miss a physical. Two reasons: my insurance pays for them 100 percent; and the incidence of cancer in my family. I was going through menopause at 49 when I had my WLS; I went off my HRT at that time and then back on it at 50 and have been on it since. She needs to check me yearly because of the HRT, which I may try to go off this year to see if it makes any difference.

Please don't worry. I think a lot of this is polyps or cysts that have grown unabated because you haven't seen a doctor for a few years. Just have them taken care of. Then have your yearly checkups so things can be taken care of in a timely manner.
