I thought RNY'ers couldn't take extended release pills.  Does anyone have any info on that?

You can take it but you don't get the extended release from it. I take regular stuff more often when they want to give me XR

It's out of your system by the time it's all supose to be thru out......hope that made sense

that pristiq that brenda got put on is an extended release also--i wondered about that- don't see where she'll get full benefit....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I don't know what brenda is on, haven't been following the boards much anymore, once in awhile will pop in. But wanted to comment on the XR rx's.

It's too bad that the surgeons don't put that in their packets of info anymore...but, the PCP's should be following them also. When I had my surgery the surgeon was the surgeon and he followed up only on that, my medical needs had to be from my PCP, that's why we all had to educate our pcp's.

Sureons can sign you off at 7 years. That's all their obligation use to be for, not sure if it has changed any.

Sorry was rambling.

Have been taking Effexor XR for about 4 years.  Doctors made no changes with surgery and surgeon knew what I was on.  Even took it in the hospital.
