So nice to see your smiling face this morning. We miss you terribly..... and you are so much a part of our family.
Having a few issues this morning...nothing major...but FOUR sugar cookies and it didn't phase me. That's a problem.
Had my grandchildren for the night. We all tried to fit in a full-sized bed. They have grown...:) I cuddled and then slept on the couch.
This morning we we have iced the birthday cake for Joe at $4. He's 65 Monday but the kids will be in school. They wanted to bake him a cake. It's pink.... because Kara says that's his favorite color... hmmmm....
Gotta run...
Janet

Make sure you tell us all about your new foster. I love hearing about them.
I know that you are on Facebook but that isn't the same as being on here and hearing what is going on in your life.
Please stick around...you are missed so much.
I'm sipping hot coffee from my red mug and dreading getting started. Today is my last meeting and it's only for an hour. Yeah. Then, I'm hitting the book store and on to the grocery store then back home. Hubby and I are looking at cars and are going to buy one today, so we may be out later looking at cars.
This afternoon, I am ironing. Man do I hate to iron. It's not the actual ironing that I hate, it's the getting ready to iron and putting it all away. That's what I hate. The pushing the hot iron over the cotton material is nice. I like the way the heat and steam takes the wrinkles right out and the clothes look so sharp. Sigh. When I was a kid, Mama had me iron our sheets as she would bring them off the line. She sprayed them with some fragran****er mixture and I ironed them and then we'd put them in the linen closet so neat and sharp.
Well, that's my day, meetings, shopping, ironing. Yeah.

My niece and I ran a small, cozy shop for antiques, collectibles and new items. We would get in dresser scarves, hankies, and older linens. We would send them up to my Mom to wash and iron. It made all the difference in how they sold.
One day during a brain storming session she pips up and suggests we have a class on old fashion ironing techniques ! ! ! I was not sure what she meant. She says, you know ironing like Gramma does. What the ????? Old fashion ironing? We still laugh about it.
She certainly is from the polyester generation. Wash & Wear or don't buy it.
Thanks for bringing back the memory
Millie
PS..... I keep my iron up all the time. I love freshly ironed clothing. Plus I sew a lot so I do need it handy.
I've been up for an hour, two lattes down and now it's time to get ready for what is my Friday...Yipeeeee
The weather is supposed to be wonderful this next week, so I'm hoping to get out and about some. But, tomorrow Tess has asked me to help her set up her facial room at the spa. She should have her skin care license this week, so she'll be ready to go. The two cosmetician's who are currently at the store are leaving, so she will have a clientele all ready and waiting for her. What a deal! She currently is the manager and lead make up artist for the store, so all of the customers already know her, so she'll do just fine. I'm very proud of her. Gee, can you tell??
Not much else going on here. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Take care and know I love you all!

Hang in there. It too YEARS for my MIL and I to get along. But we made it. No one ever said life was easy, huh?

I know the feelings you have. Only mine is the opposite. I wish I could have had a better relationship with my mother in law. I married the only child.... We had a wonderful two week visit... Once. And it ended up in a disaster.
My MIL taught me the most valuable lesson in my life: How NOT to be a mother in law. I have three wonderful DIL and I do whatever I can to make sure we have a good relationship, even if it hurts once in a while.
Compliments and helping hands always work for me.
Hopefully, it will change with time..... maturity... and lots of love and prayers.
