It seemed like it took forever to hit 199.  I honestly was getting discouraged.   Finally, I made it.  I am thrilled beyond belief.

It is hard work...

Thanks again

Congratulations!!  I know exactly how you feel.

I did not have WLS so I cannot fully relate to all you go through and deal with but would never tell anyone that doing so would be the easy way out.  It's just a tool to help you reach your goal but you have to do all the work.  Face it, there are people who fail after WLS so it is not the total answer.....just part of the solution....

You should be so proud of what you've accomplished so far.  I'm sure you'll reach your final goal whatever that is......just stay determined and focused.

Best wishes for continued success and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Thanks Ruth,

I know there are a lot of people out there fighting this problem everyday.  I hope everyone that is trying to get surgery gets it.  However, they have to realize you still have to work at it.  Nothing comes easy.

Thanks for answering,  I really appreciate it

Mary:  What a wonderful feeling.  Congratulations sweetie.
WLS is not the "EASY" fix and that is for sure but it sure is a wonderful tool to improve our quality of life.  You just keep on keeping on sweet Mary Margaret.  You are getting there!!

Hugs,
Sandy

Hi Sandy,

Thanks for your support.  It is not an easy fix but a tool like you said.   I am not going to waste it either.  I get discouraged but am not ever going to give up.  I want to keep pn going.  Especially since I reached one of my goals.

Thanks Sandy..

No it is not an easy fix.  But with people like you who support others it is easier.  People who understand the trials and tribulations.  It is a safe place to come here.   I seek knowledge from others and their support.   I thank you for yours.

Mary:

Congrats on your achievement! I remember when I got below 200 ... wow, I hadn't been there since high school! When I got to 180, I thought, I was here in high school and the boys were calling me fat. I don't think of myself as fat now, though (well, still overweight by insurance standards and BMI, but I look pretty damn good).

And you probably do, too ... and don't take it from anyone who says you took the easy way out. Surgery is not easy! This is major surgery. You're knocked out and they're rearranging your innards ... this isn't easy, and it's not an easy decision to make. You have to make some major lifestyle changes afterward. You did, you did the work ... so celebrate your accomplishment. It is hard work. It's not easy.

Congrats!

Hi Eileen,

Thanks and you are right it is not easy.  I am determined though and I have a great tool.  I like now that I weigh less than I have in years.  Just seeing the one hundreds makes my day.   Now On to the next goal.  lol.  No time to sit and celebrate.   Before I would celebrate with something to eat.  Instead I took a walk and reflected on how much this tool I have been given has helped me so far.  No more diabetes, no more high blood pressure, no more high cholesterol.   Now I have to work on the sleep apnea...  If I can..

I want to thank you for posting and giving me another smile today
