Does anyone know of a support group for bariatric patients other than the typical surgery follow up care (my surgeon has a meeting once a month).

Is there anything like bariatrics anonymous (heck I don't know) that meets more often than one a month?  It would be great if there were - for those who have had WLS

Jeane,
That depends on where you live. Have you tried asking on your State Forum?

I lead two groups - lap-band & RNY. Each group meets every other week, combined if there is a 5th Monday in the month. It is not the typical surgery follow up but support for bariatrics people. WLS is more than just following a food plan, it is about our day to day living.

Good luck.

I know that our Texas Message Board on OH has several support group leaders.  Several of them have regularly scheduled structured support groups.  We have several in the Metroplex (DFW area) that each meet once a month.  You could almost get one a week within reasonable driving distance, I am sure.  Check your state board.

Jeane, you might also consider Overeaters Anonymous. They have a meeting somewhere here in Little Rock every day. They welcome anyone who is struggling with food, whether it's over eating, anorexia, or whatever. My husband has gone on and off for a couple of years and has encouraged me to attend to help with my food addiction. There are many people here who have gone at one time or another.

I'm sure you could google it for your area and find meetings
