Protein Bars
Pat, I used to buy Power Crunch bars. They were really good and had something like 13 or 15 grams of protein per bar and were extremely low in sugar. Then, they changed the recipe and I didn't like them nearly as well.
I have not seen the South Beach cereal bars here in town. I'll have to take a closer look when we grocery shop this Sunday at Fred Meyer's.

Hi Cindy,
When I'm traveling I take bars that I buy at Costco. They are a bit pricey but I just eat one half at a time and get 15 grams of protein. Brand: Premier Protein. They come in a box of I believe 20 and are in a white wrapper that says "Protein" in large blue letters. I haven't bought any in a while but plan to take some to Italy with me in October. They come in 3 different flavors in the same box. I like them tho they are a bit rich so 1/2 is plenty.
Where are you off to? Somewhere fun and relaxing I hope! Just got back from Ocean Shores. Not my cup of tea. I did explore further north and liked Pacific Beach much better. My heart belongs in your neck of the woods. Karen

Hi, Karen:
I'll have to look for the Costco bars. Thanks for the info.
I'm having surgery in Seattle and we'll be there for at least one week. I'm thinking bars, along with protein drinks, are probably a good idea. We're staying at the hospital's "hotel". We've been there twice and haven't seen any grocery stores nearby. There is a restaurant in the building but it's expensive. We are flying up and back to minimize travel time. I'm not looking forward to the whole thing at all.
Sorry your time at the beach wasn't all you had hoped for. And, sorry to hear that Mike is siffering with gout. I can so totally relate to planning everything out. I am a planner too.
