Having trouble keeping food down
I had trouble with chicken early out and other dense protein. I had this issue for a bit because I went from clear liquid, full liquid, puree, soft food and then regular food over about a 6 week period after surgery.
This is what I did and a suggestion: I started out with things like Lean Cuisine, WW, Health Choice entres with chicken and concentrated on the chicken and left most of the other stuff. I also used things like the chicken strips for salad and chewed both of these until they ran thru my teeth (a quote from my nurse at my surgeon's office who also had RNY 6 years ago). I eventually got to the point where I tried beef and fish and worked my way to preparing them myself.
Also, like some of the other posters said, do you have what is called foamies? I did when I didn't chew things enough. I would feel like it was stuck, almost like spit it up and I would feel better.

I still cant keep chicken down and my surgery was November 3 2008. I didnt start eating meats till I was over 2 months out. I was on liquids, purreed, then soft . and finally regular foods.
Maybe it is a little soon for your pouch. I would call my Dr and check. They all have different schedules.

One more thing,
try shrimp. That was one thing I have never had a problem with. steamed shrimp and ****tail sauce. I even pureed them in the beginning. I was only eating 3 -4 of them but when I weighed them it was close to 3 oz. sometimes a little more. A pound lasted a week. Good source of protein.

I couldn't eat any meat, fish or eggs for months after surgery. Got sicker than a dog every time. I still get sick on it once in a while and it's been 2 years. I took Reglan for months. My doc says some people have lots more trouble than others. He said you lose some of the enzymes that the stomach uses to digest protein. So solid protein is a problem. I drank lots of protein shakes and put tasteless protein in soup and pudding. Only good thing about it is you lose lots of weight real fast. Just don't do like me and find out sugar is not a problem and start eating that again. Big mistake.
