What's New Friday? TGIF!
It's horrible what the vet charges to euthanize an animal. And a lot of them want their money up front too ... how do you plan for that? I sure never had it ready to pay when Kittle died. I went into the vet and they did tests, and told me his liver functions were so high, they couldn't see any reason to keep him going. So I had him put to sleep ... then they want their money right away. I'm sitting their crying and I don't have the money for it. Finally, they agreed to take a third of it and the rest by the end of the month. I mean, what were they going to do, bring him back to life now? In the end, the vet was actually pretty nice to me. She made a donation in Kittle's name to the vet school in Michigan, but the office staff were a little mercenary (I know it's what they're told to do but ...)
I hate it whe they put a hold on paychecks. I can't even pay bills until they decide the check is good.
I am always a little upset with myself but this next month, I have enrolled in some classes and hopefully, I will get back on track with it all. Sometimes you just have to invest in yourself to get back in sinc.
I have my Irish dance class twice a month
I have my motorcycle safety class I will be taking next month
I have a conditioning class 2x a week
I have ballet 2x a week
I am hoping to get the homeschoolers back into doing some Irish dance in October.
Do you think that is active enough lol
i wanted to send you a card a while back but no address-are you in the new OFF directory??get with floyd curvin about that ......
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

My husband is saying o, is that all you can eat. This is because I could not fill my stomach before it's like a endless pit of hunger. Now until, I have surgery, then my stomach will be smaller. In otherwords, with this diet, I'll be eaten the way alot of people do. This is just the beginning of a new life and I'm so happy about it. It's like seeing the end of a long disease and the cure is in reach.
My attitude has changed,I'm happy n upbeat again, I didnt really think this was ever going to happen, I mean the surgery, I thought this must be a dream, because of the length of time involved with this process.
This has been a busy week for me. I start back to work next week, and I am trying to get everything taken care of here that needs to be taken care of because, once I start teaching, look out - no time for much.
I've had a plumber here to install a new tap in the kitchen and hook up the filtered water line for my fridge. A carpet shampooer was here yesterday to give the carpets another good cleaning for the fall, and today an electrician is here to install new garage lights. I think that I've managed to cover everything that I have thought of, but there will always be surprises for me to take care of!
I live in one of the oldest houses in this area. It's a one storey colonial and it has not had the character spoiled except for the kitchen, which is alright with me. I love my house and my field stone fence and am doing my best to keep too much "newness" at bay. The people who owned the house before me didn't do much to destroy the character, but what they have done I am planning on fixing - for example, there are transom windows over all the doors in the hallway, which have had the glass removed. My next project is to reinstall glass (I'm thinking plain) so that the transom windows are functional and so that more light is introduced into my hallway. It will be nice to have more light in the hall.
I will probably go into work today because, on Monday, the faculty area will be filled with professors getting ready for classes to start the next Tuesday. It will be hard to get much done, and I expect a lineup at the copier for the last bits that we need for the semester! I'd rather sneak in today and get done what I can.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend. It's supposed to rain here with cooler temperatures, but that's okay with me. I hate the heat!

Good morning, Eileen and my OFFer's. I hope that today is good...just think the week end starts soon! The only thing better than that is if the week end was 5 days long and the week is the 2 remaining. Do you think we could start a new trend here? Of course we would need to paid for the week end instead...
It is still raining here and the temperatures are in the 60's. They are staying in the 60's until around Monday...or so they say now. Things change so fast and so often who can keep up with the weather? Heck the weatherman can't keep up so how can we?
Kayden is here and chatting with Grandpa. He is in a pretty good mood but I think that he might be coming down with a cold since he is sneezing a lot. He has coughed some but mostly sneezing. I think he is tired but right now wants the Grandpa time instead....he just loves his Grandpa. It is wonderful having him during the day but boy it does get tiring. It takes a lot of energy to keep up with him. Bill was just talking to him about how it won't be long and he will be crawling and getting into things...OMG...I don't want to think about that yet!
I still have that pain above my right eye. I am still thinking it is sinus because of the rain. I know that my left temple area is sore to the touch. I am not sure what that is about...I never had anything go on there. Just found it last night when I put my hand there. I think that I am just falling apart...bit by bit!
I better get going. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are being said for everyone. Have a great day...even if this means running between the raindrops. Don't forget to smile and spread the joy and happiness that you have. It comes back to you twenty fold!!!
It's another rainy, dreary, cool morning here in Sturgis, MI. When I got to my office, the heat was pouring out of the ceiling vents -- WTH, I called maintenance and they said when the t-stat gets down to 69 the heat kicks in --- good grief, it's still summer - please turn it off!!!
No new pd files at all this week -- my stacks are down to 2 - they are so busy upstairs no one has time to pull them for me.....hopefully will get some next week, or I'll be caught up....
Made a big pot of turkey chili yesterday -- yummo, it tasted so good!
I use ground turkey in place of ground beef -- very rarely eat beef and prefer the turkey in place of it.
Better get back to work now---stay warm and dry wherever you are.
Special thoughts to those just out of surgery or having problems. I am actually doing some walking in the house w/o my cane -- but very carefully.

Done! Your Ticker:
I just got home from a Job Interview at Great Clips. I think they are just smelling around to see who is out there looking for a job. They are opening up 2 stores south of me in Sarasota and they asked me if I would be interested in a managers job. I said no!!!!! I only want a stylist job and not the responsibility of management.
so we shall see. Im just looking, if a job comes well that is good otherwise Ill just do what I am doing.
It is so hot here and humid I hope the rain comes soon to cool everything off.
Not much else going on here.
Carla
I've loved all the warm and wonderful animals stories the past couple of days.....and feel deep sadness for those who have had to put their sweet furry friends to sleep. I feel that deep in my soul.........animals just love, that don't require much in return. What a gift!
Yesterday at 5:00 I went to a staff meeting at IMUA where I do the baby's hearing testing and sometimes fill in for receptionist. Money is and issue as with most companies these days, and they have had to let go the hearing coordinator....so we now have a new coordinator who is doing her own job as a child hearing specialist AND newborn hearing screener supervisor. My part time job is not in jeopardy because the law says ALL newborns must be hearing tested so someone has to do it, and I'm trained and have a year and a half experience.
I found out yesterday that for the termite tenting of our building we have to double plastic bag EVERYTHING IN OUR FRIGE AND FREEZER!! Oh my!! My freezer is stuffed! Since I'm staying in a friend's condo right next door, I may just fill up a shopping cart and take a lot of it over to put in her freezer so I don't have to do all that bagging. It would never fit back in the freezer with the bulk of plastic added. My friend and neighbor is going to have a fit when she hears this because in addition to the frige freezer they have a 2nd freezer in their bathroom which is FULL!! What a pain in the ass this all is....and I will be so glad when it's over!!
My weight is up to165.....10 lbs. above my lowest. I'm still in the "normal" range, but don't want to gain any more. At 5'11" 165 is an OK weight.......and I know I don't look so boney at this weight, but I liked the wiggle room of being 155. Now, back to watching everything that goes in my mouth and making sure I drink water all day long. Sigh.
Here's hoping you all have a productive day and that something wonderful happens that you can share tomorrow.
Aloha nui loa,

Yeah, I know, the rent-to-own is a ripoff, but when my TV was fried, I didn't have many options ... our freecycle is crappy here and getting something from Goodwill (or other thrift stores) or Craigslist would mean bringing it home in my little car (with no backseat option ... can't open the back doors) and carrying it in myself. Old TVs are heavy, and with my knees and back, I can't carry much (when I have to carry in the 40-lb. boxes of kitty litter, it's not a good thing). So I did the rent-to-own. The TV is nice, but I know I could get it cheaper if I bought it outright somewhere. But I have no credit and no money to do so. So this was the only option.
I'll be out of bankruptcy after December ... four more months!
