Its 20 minutes to Midnight. Ill start the Saturday Coffee Talk!!!!!!!
Good afternoon Carla and OFF friends,
I'm feeling so great today! WOO HOO! Blood sugar was 114 and I'm down 15.2 pounds. What a way to start the day - lol - now I just can't wait until Tuesday when the JP drain comes out - another WOO HOO! LOL
We went to Walmart this morning and now I'm off to fold laundry. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
on 8/29/09 3:48 am - West Central FL☼RIDA , FL
Still no rain here.......just HOT HOT HOT!!
I got out early before the sun got too hot and washed the outside of the windows around the lanai...have not done any other ones outside and they may just wait until the fall. All the insides are done and I feel pretty good about that!
Floor are all mopped, binds are all clean so I think I'm good to go......... Just have to change the sheets the night before I leave town for surgery and all should be good when I get home. I'll run to the drug store to pick up the prescriptions I need and then scoot over to Walmart for more protein powder and bars and then I'm done. Maybe I can just rest and relax on Tuesday. Wanna bet someone messes that plan up!.........oh I forgot......I have to drop Buddy off to his resort on Tuesday.
No bike ride this morning........taking a free day. Especially since I dropped 3.5 lbs this week. I'm telling you those morning rides and runs have been great for me!!!!!!!
Got to chat with my best friend yesterday for about 2 hours.......made plans for her and the girls to come visit.
Think I found the new Lap Top I want............a Toshiba Portege tablet.....

Well hope you all have a great day!

It's nearly 2 p.m. and I'm finally getting online. I didn't get up til after noon ... got home after 1 a.m. and then when I did go to bed, I had problems sleeping. Grrrr ... I was so pissed off at working in sports last night. I knew this would happen. I got in at 6 p.m. as I was told to. Talked to the woman who was in charge of the desk (I love that a woman is in charge of the sports desk and that we have a female sports editor!) ... told her I was working for sports and to remember to give me something to do. Well, I sat there with nothing to do, so finally I told the news desk if they needed some pages proofed, give 'em to me, because I had nothing to do. I read my Time magazine until then. Got some pages to proof from news at 8:30 p.m.; that kept me busy for awhile. At 10:30, I got one sports page ... wound up with a whole three sports pages to proof. And for that, my boss pulled me off my normal duties and put another person on nights. I'm sure he wasn't aware of what they planned for me. I could have done my normal news desk duties (which involve producing the business pages, proofing other news pages) and then proofed my three sports pages without my boss pulling someone off the morning shift to work nights. So I shot him an e-mail to let him know what happened. I wasn't happy. I felt my talents were wasted last night, and he wasted another person on nights. We are so shorthanded, and sports had so many people working last night, it wasn't funny. Even the sports desk supervisor said they had too many people. So why was I called over to work sports. It was ridiculous!
Anyway, I stewed over that most of the night when I got home, so then I couldn't sleep. Scooter must have sensed I was upset, because as soon as I sat in my recliner, he was on my lap, purring up a storm. So was Nettie.
I am not getting out of PJs today ... the only thing I have to go out for is mail, and it's probably junk mail and bills, so why bother. I'm in a crappy mood today. And the White Sox already aren't helping it... they are losing 4-0 and Jose Contreras, who stinks, is pitching (as George says, boring baseball stuff). It's probably going to be an all-baseball day ... George, can you get your Rangers to beat the Twins for once, for me, huh?
I need a vacation ... don't have one coming up till the last week of September going into the first of October. Wanted the first week of the playoffs (which I usually take) but that was taken. Oh well, any old week will do ... I'm not going anywhere. Just hanging around the house.
It's gloomy and cloudy and chilly ... 61 degrees. Got the doors and windows closed, my body hurts and I just want to sleep all day. I have some things I need to do around the house this weekend (major litter box dumping, some cooking/baking, maybe some dusting since I can't afford the cleaning lady for another couple weeks). But not a whole lot of stuff. I'm just tired.
Have a good weekend.
Hi everybody!
The weather here is strange..today, cool and quite dark and overcast...had alot of rain during the night again. My garden has been rained out..the tomato plants drowned and so did most of my peppers, broccoli, beans, peas and lettuces. I guess I wont be making my annual batch of stuffed peppers, pasta sauce and chilli sauce this Fall.
I've been busy studying alot..they make the type in those textbooks way too small lately..has anyone noticed? *s* ...It's a quiet weekend here. Mother is upbeat lately which is a nice change..she will be 90 at the end of November...I'm thinking that maybe a small TES might be nice..the weather is usually too miserable then for expecting people tp travel here so I will keep it small.
Today, I've been working on the programme's schedule for sorority..this is my fifth year doing it and they wont let me quit...lol. JB brought me several bushes of summer savoury that were hanging to dry in the barn ...you pick all the tiny dried leaves from the bush..a messy job so it has to be done outside but the work is well worth it..summer savoury is an excellent fragrant herb for poultry and soups.
Derek came home from work at 4 am this morning..I was still up..having a terrible time sleeping lately. He told me how, the night before, when he wasnt working, the manager didnt do his job and clear the nightclub properly and a drunk was accidentally locked inside the club ivernight..he was fast asleep in one of the washrooms. When he woke up, he started wandering and that set off all the alarms..the police found him locked inside...Now it seems that they want Derek to be Manager of the club because the owner says how responsible and hard working Derek is. Well he would take the position because it means more money but ONLY if it doesn't interfere with his own business- the snowplowing in the winter. Time will tell.
JB is still digging at our foundation where there is a major crack..everytime it rains hard, Derek's level gets flooded downstairs..we suspect it's where the two-story part of the house meets the bi-level part at the 90 degree angle of the house. Naturally JB is digging by hand instead of renting a machine..but what do I know?
Sunday is my daughter-in-law, Amy's birthday..she will be 33..she says it's the new 22..works for me! Still no baby but she is having a second endometriosis surgery . I dont ask..I dont want to stress them out at all..Danny already has more than enough stress at work and working on another electronic project for another group of engineers at home.
Struggling here trying to get motivated and energy to clear out this office..it's the household storage room...it seems to be a common theme lately..clearing out the clutter. Actually DE-CLUTTERING is very freeing and its a valuable activity.
Food-wise, I am doing remarkably well...well on the way back down now and being very mindful of everything that goes into my mouth..and always, my supplements daily and the water intake. I'm finding that I'm getting bored with food..there's no joy in it anymore...LOL....
Yesterday I made a strange concoction:
SF lemon yogurt, Cool Whip Light and sugar-free PROTEIN JELLO...all mixed up..actually tastes rather good now that it finally set and is nice and light and has good protein in it..
Well, back to work.
