I am so grateful or my shakes, they were yummo, and we shall see how the day goes,
Hugs to you and yours!

Jacki, you are so kind, the PT said it is the largest she has seen,or should I say longest?? 28 stiches.
I am so happy I came home,I am a private person and I could not stand being in rehab,I am grateful they can come to me.
They say I am doing well...
Thank you so much!

glad your surgery went well. The incision gets to looking better when it starts to heal. Mine is long too. The pt is rough but it is nice to see results every day, it hurts and it sucks but the results are worth it. I had lots of swelling so dont forget to ice your leg if that starts,,,here's to a speedy recovery. . sue

Hiya Sue,yeppers, lotsa swelling. She told me to use a ice pack also.
I fell the first morning I was home.and cussed myself out as I dragged my new knee along with me,I was lucky enough to have it not hurt me!! I was alone, and on the floor for hours, but hey, eventually I got up.
"I thank whatever God's there be,for my invincible soul"...
Here's to us!!

Hey, glad you are home.   Knee surgeries are a pain in the rear end.  Glad you are home and if you are like me, recovery will hasten with the familiar around you.

B: egg, sausage, toast

S: cheese stick

S: cheese stick

L: chicken

S: fruit dipped in peanut butter

S: cottage cheese and pepper

D: taco salad.

Today, nothing is eating me.  Well, my kitty is trying to eat my toe but other than that, I'm cool.

Welcome home.

I hope you have a grand day,so far I have had a Metamucil wafer, and 2 spoons of black eyed peas, but I will try to eat more,if not,I have my trusty shakes.
Thank you for the well wishes and the chuckle.

Welcome home Linda, Been there done that twice with the knees. Not much fun for sure. Really do that rehab; it know it hurts like hell but is so necessary. My physical therapist would talk to me as he was bending and stretching the knee. . . He said he could tell by the tone in my voice without even seeing my face when he had reached the limit on the stretch or bend!

I will say that the first 3 weeks are just plain miserable and then it got better. I was in so much pain all night long before surgery that it was worth it. New knees are certainly not like the originals were when they were in good shape, but they don't hurt and I can walk for miles and miles and miles. Hang in there.

I have kind of gotten off track again. Being out of town for almost a week, at daughter's, at the beach, back home with much to do before leaving again on Tuesday for St. Louis with daughter and twins. So, I haven't wanted to be accountable. Eating too many bad carbs. Damn crackers and white bread. Couldn't eat the spongey bread for a couple of years, but bought a loaf of Franz Buttermilk Bread. Damn stuff still tastes good even as it glombs up inside of me.

Today, back to watching what I put in my mouth or better yet making the decision to just put healthy stuff in.

Cooking today for my brother and his wife. Walleye, salads, fresh corn, blackberry cobbler. Trying to "clone" my mom's cobbler which didn't really have a written recipe. Hope I can come close.  Do you think I can Splenda it? My brother is diabetic.

Hugs Linda. When I was on pain pills I had no appetite.  Need those again!

Karen, don't be too hard on yourself. It sounds as though you have a wonderful life, what else is there?
Splendor may be one of the ingredients you can use for baking, read the box.
Karen,I have been on pain meds for a long time,it depresses me,but it is better than not being able to live without pain even when I am sitting still.
I purchased long term disability insurance through my job 7 years ago, thank God! I just received my "reward" letter. I am grateful for this,it goes up to a half a million,so it should help a lot.Of course my monthly payments will not come even close to that,LOL.
You just keep on loving yourself and the people around you,
Big Hug!!
