Problems eating chicken

I was wondering if anyone else is having the problem I am having, and if anyone can offer an explanation.

I love chicken.  I normally use frozen chicken and thaw it out.  When I use fresh chicken that has not been frozen, I have a problem chewing it enough due to my dentures.

George, I just wanted to let you know that I have no explanation on that. It doesn't make much sense to me. I would think that chicken would be chicken, wouldn't you. I am going to be interested if others have that problem too. But then again I don't wear dentures either. That may be where the problem lays...heck I don't know.

Hey George
I wear full set of dentures & right now my Top one is broken & has a piece missing
out of it, which causes the lower's not to fit correctly. (Insurance will not pay to fix)
So a lot of things I eat of late does not work very well.  Maybe with the fresh Chickens
the meat is a different texture than when it has been frozen. This probably did not help
answer your question, but, I can so relate to what you are saying.
If this happens all the time on Fresh Chicken, quit buying the fresh chickens & stick to
the already frozen stuff.
Here's an Idea, maybe beat it up with a baseball Bat, then you can eat it better as you
will be thinking about Baseball instead. Hee Hee

The only chicken that I can eat is thighs that have been baked in the oven.  I cannot do fried and can do boiled if it has been cooked for hours and is so tender it can be fed to a baby.  I'd try to eat only the dark meat, since it is the most oily and tender and bake it.

do you freeze your own or buy the flash frozen? the flash frozen has had so much taken out of it in the process and then the water aspect after being frozen...???and it is not so dense....if you freeze your own then taht shoots this idea!!!!
just clutching at a straw here! i love love love chicken and prefer the dark meat as well..always have...and luckily do not have problems with chicken that other folks do...

sorry-no help...

I find that when I brine my chicken and turkeys it make them a lot moister and tender. Flash frozen chicken has already gone thru this process.
My dog has pancreatitis and can only eat boneless skinless chicken breats. She has a hard time with the fresh chicken but devours the flash frozen.

Here is a link for you if you want to try to brine. I'm not if you remember Tooter but she brines her meats also. We had discussions about that one day. I really miss her...
But, here's the link and good luck, you can private message me if you have any question.
