What we are eating and what's eating us Tuesday!
Well Betsy,as long as you are working for the greater good! We all know that creative people should be treated differently.
I am a fatalist.so I believe we meet who we are supposed to meet and things happen because they are meant to.
I do want to compliment you on your progress, you have come far in a short period of time. You have much to be proud of!

Good September to you, dear one. I am just so glad that August is over and done with...good riddance to bad rubbish as far as I am concerned.
Yes, I just can't get over how some people have the perfect job...going to their homes and torturing them. And getting paid good money for it too at that! How perfect is that for a job...you get a lot of frustration out that is for darn sure.
I watched Hoarders last night for the first time. That poor woman in California kept talking about finding homes for things...that is just what I say all the time. I have to find a home for this and that. And boxes...mine are grocery bags. I just put stuff in the bag and hide them in my closet. I have to purge...and just keep purging too. Look out dumpster....here I am with the "have to keep" stuff. I feel that I have to keep everything. I watched that and got scared. My sister is a hoarder and just terrible. I refuse to go in her house...and she doesn't mind it either. I feel like I am being closed in....
Food yesterday was pretty good. I liked it anyway.
B: scrambled eggs
L: for the life of me I can't remember and neither can Bill...
D: grilled cheese and onion sandwich
S: pretzel sticks
I wish I could remember what I had for lunch...I do know that it was good though. Now if I could remember....oh well such is life in the big city I guess.
I am going...I got to see the I.D. doctor this afternoon and Bill sees the workman's comp doctor too. So a busy day with doctors...and no Kayden today either...DIL is off today and boy do I miss him something terrible.
Have a great day and I am sending love and hugs to you along with prayers being said for you and yours. Just remember that today is September...no more August to suffer through. It was a bad month for a lot of us here. Don't forget to share your smile and spread happiness and joy to others.

Hey Debbie. I'm glad you got your drain removed. Does your doctor put them in all his patients? I only had superglue on my little incisions and that was all.
I was tired of the protein shakes, so this morning I skipped it. Then I had the bad experience with the ham samples. I haven't had anything today, so I'll probably have to do a double shake tonight.
My problem with the dizziness turned out to be dehydration, because since I've been drinking more diligently, I'm not dizzy. Now I have an RX for Antivert that I don't need. I guess I'll just save it, just in case.

Jan,
I'm sorry to hear you had trouble with your ham samples and also dizziness. My gosh, I know first hand about suffering from dizziness, it can really hinder almost everything you do! I hope you feel better soon! I keep drinking and drinking. I made a pitcher of water with fresh lemon and I drink that and it's really good. I forgot a took a bigger sip than I should have, but it was okay - whew!
Yes, my doc puts the drain in everyone. I emptied it 4 times a day until the last two or so days when the accumulation of fluid was not that significant. I'm so glad it's gone now....I can move so much better.
How is the move going? Pretty soon you'll be living in your lovely new home! I'm wishing you lots of good health and happiness in your new home! I hope you love it!

I wonder why any doctor would not use drains... Mine did not.
But then I had an infection that he didn't catch, either - although my white blood cell count was more than double, in the hospital and my incision was red and hot. Go figure.
I had a surgery in 2004 to remove ruptured breast implants', and the surgeon used Jackson-Pratt drains. I had no complication from that surgery, and I believe now that it saved my life.
I just hope that my RNY surgeon was better at the actual surgery than he was follow-up. So far, so good.
Jan, dehyrdration can certainly cause what feels like dizziness. At my first follow-up visit to the surgeon I nearly passed out, I was so dehydrated. He didn't seem to think anything then, either, of the very swollen and red incision site. It was not until I woke up at 3 AM drenched in blood and pus, that my husband took me into ER. My surgeon's response when I called him from ER was to chew me out for going to Boca Community Hospital (he doesn't have privileges there).
That hospital was closest to my home, and where are you going to go at 3 AM with a gushing abscess? He said he'd call me back - and he never did. I was in the hospital there 4 days. A (different) surgeon opened the wound, and cleaned it out. I had two different type of bacteria - a strep and something else.
Geesh, I guess I am still irritated at the surgeon. I still can't believe his pathetic follow up. And I worry that if something does happen, he would not know what to do.

Linda,
I have to fight my hoarder tendencies all the time - I see my grandmother lurking in me - she was fanatically clean but man did she hoard stuff. Every square inch in her house (whether vertical or horizontal) was covered with stuff. By the time she died, the basement of her house was filled, from floor to about 8" from the ceiling, with old copies of TV Guide (like you'll need those again?) and various women's magazines.
I'll have to think about my mental/emotional hoarding...hmmm....
B: cottage cheese & yogurt w/ blueberries & raspberries
S: iced skinny latte
L: mustard pork chop, edamame dip, zucchini
S: apple with PB2 dip & a few walnuts
D: baked crab rangoon, eggplant & zucchini
S: frozen cherries

I don't think I'm really a hoarder. I just like stuff! I think I could easily become one tho. Especially with animals. Good thing I've got Gary here to keep me in check. He wanted one dog. I've managed three so far. I almost had a forth not too long ago, but he's right, we don't need another one, and now that he's going to be retired we want to do some traveling, and it's hard with dogs.
I'm sure if I weren't so allergic I'd have cats too. At least with a cat you can leave it for the weekend with enough food, water and litter and it'll be ok.
I had something to eat today, but lost it, so I've gotten in zero nutrition so far. I think I'll probably do a double protein shake for dinner. Maybe cottage cheese for a snack.
Tomorrow is closing and our financial advisor is taking us out to dinner to celebrate. I'm either going to have filet mignon, lobster, shrimp or some sort of fish, maybe salmon. I want to make sure I don't have any adverse reaction, and make sure I chew chew chew.
