Bad Experience

CHEW  CHEW  CHEW.......  it is our new mantra....

Since surgery and after a few foamie stories of my own I have really been aware of the need to chew.  I cannot believe how others eat.  I'm so aware of chewing that I actually watch others.  I know, it almost sounds like a perversion.  In a restaurant and fast food places I am amazed at the bite sizes and lack of chewing.  I actually gagged when I watch one person eat so fast and take such large bites.  My stoma tightened up like a, well, you can guess.....  ugh....

I find myself chewing everything.... even cottage cheese.   It's a learned habit and when I don't chew I pay the price....

Hang in there Jani, it gets better....

I laugh at you watching other people.  I do the same!!  Especially my husband and sons.  I can't believe the bites they take and how fast they eat.
I ate pork chow mein for dinner and it was good.  I chewed probably 40 times with each bite.  Took a while, but I enjoyed it.  Hubby had two plates full and two egg rolls to my small plate and was done before me!  Thats ok with me.  I ended up feeling good.  Now I'm trying to get in the rest of my liquids for the day.
I don't think I'll forget this day quickly! Vomit 2
Glad to know I'm not alone.

Is that like when you're pregnant noticing all the pregnant women?

Boy that was a long lonnng time ago for me.

I watch my husband eat, and I just am in awe - he inhales food.  But he doesn't have a weight problem.  Curses.

He's lucky not to have a problem.  My husband does, but it's a small problem.  Nothing 30 pounds off wouldn't take care of.  He's definately not in need of WLS anyway.

Been there...done that....BIG TIME!...even 30 minutes after eating..never could understand how such a small pouch can produce so much volume!  And it happened while driving on a busy street with NO warning...dangerous to say the least!

I've pretty much learned now when to stop BUT to still happens now and then, much to my surprise..and it isn't always from over-eating either..could be just went down wrong or I was talking and took in alot of air....Rufus can have his moments *s*

The foamies suck!!! No way around it.

I hate to tell you, it probably won't be the last.  This whole thing is a live and learn with us.  Learning what your pouch can tolerate and what it can't.

My biggest problem with the foamies was from the same, lack of chewing.  I got it the other day from some chicken that Mary cooked.  Unfortunately it was too juicy and my teeth could not chew it, they just mashed it.

But, I will take whatever I get, because I am much healthier than I was 2 years ago.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Trust me, I'm chewing everything to death (right now).  I don't want to experience that again!

Jan,

I'm sorry that happened to you.  Thanks for the warning, though, because when I can finally eat something, I'm going to chew the heck out of it - lol - hope you're feeling better now.
