Good Wednesday Morning - The What's New Revue!!!
Talking about hitting the road!!!!! I am road trippin today. Im going up to Lake City to see my friend. Ill be there overnight.
I secured a place to have the family reunion. One task down and a million to go!!!!!
It looks gloomy here and about to rain.
I know what you mean George about being called Mary's Father. Once my sister and I were in Marshall Fields in Chicago and someone said to me your grandma is overThere. She was so mad!!!! She is 8 years older than I am.
Well Im off.
Carla
Yesterday I bought a case of tomatoes and a case of pears. I now have lots of canning to do. I love canning. It's always nice to see the rows of canned goods on the shelves. I put together baskets of goodies at the holidays too.
Fall is sure in the air here. I wish we could have a few more really nice hot days but, I live in the wrong area for that. lol... The best would be a nice Indian Summer.
Well, I'm off to start my day. Make yours a good one.
Millie
I have my little Kayden and I told DS Monday that he was getting a cold since he was coughing quite a bit. He told me that he fakes coughing and I said that these were not faked. This morning he told me that DIL was getting a doctor's appointment for him because he is sick. HMMM.....wonder where they got the idea? It sure wasn't from me since I know nothing. But I sure can watch him even though I am stupid. Oh well....I have to stop that now or I am going to get mad and then I might say something and then not have Kayden....she can be nasty and at times so can DS....since they are the only people on earth that ever had a baby and his mother's family is the only people that know anything either. OPPS! You never heard that since I shut my mouth! ha ha
Bill should find out when he can go back to work sometime today. We are hoping that he can go today but something tells me that they are going to make it another day....simply because the Operations Manager has his little peeps there doing his job. I heard that he is working on getting rid of the guys that work there so that he can get his peeps in there to work. I told Bill that he needs to call w.c. insurance people to see about getting the inhalers...so I guess he is going to call her today.
The day is sunny today and cool but it is suppose to be in the upper 70's today. I like it when it is about that temperature. It is cool enough to be comfortable and warm enough to be nice when you are in the sun. I feel the early winter coming and the bugs that are coming in from outdoors is telling me the same thing. We are getting a fair amount of spiders in here this year and that is unusual.
I have to go to the library today. My dang old books were due on Friday so I have fines now of 5 cents a day for each book. Not a lot but I shouldn't do that....it isn't right. If Bill has to go to work today I am going to have to take Kayden with me...but I am thinking they are open until 9 tonight....so maybe not.
I have a pcp appointment today. It is the follow up for the antidepressant being started and for the carotid artery ultrasound too. I have to let her know about the headaches that I am having pretty much constantly. They aren't getting any better either and sometimes they seem worse. I am wondering if they are sinus headaches but then sometimes I think they aren't. How am I suppose to know? Heck I feel stupid! It must be September 2nd Brenda's stupid day today. But then again some would tell you it must be September 2nd everyday! And I might agree with them at times too. ha ha
I better get going. I am getting hungry and so breakfast is calling me. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are being said for everyone too....and for Margo's Michael too. Have a super day and spread some happiness and joy around you.
Well, it's about time to wake up "princess" and I'm ready for my first nap of the day. figures.
I get up early to come upstairs in the apt complex... between 4:00 -5:00 a.m. When I get here I like to lay on the couch for a couple of hours... but, noooo I'm awake enough to stay up. Then when its time for McKenzie to wake up I'm ready for my first nap of the day. Aaarrghh. Hopefully I will be able to get my body into some sort of routine or this will wear me down.
Ok, enough about me..... what's going on in your corner of the world?
Have a fun day...
Millie

ok i am signing off...SMILE!!! makes people wonder what you've been up too!!!! ;-)

Your tale of the ballpark was fascinating. I wish I could join you sometime, but my budget doesn't have a trip to Dallas in it this year, or I'd be down for Janet's birthday ... plus I have other people I could visit too (a former college teacher now lives down there, and I'd love to see her again ... haven't seen her for years ... she wouldn't recognize me ... I'm sure I wouldn't recognize her!). A coworker wanted to go with me to a Whitecaps game (that's our minor league team affiliated with the Tigers) but I can't even afford that. All I can say is four more months and I'll be done with bankruptcy hell.
I was at work last night monitoring the White Sox-Twins game. One of my coworkers, whose name is Jerry Ford (yes, the same as the president who grew up in Grand Rapids ... his nickname, of course, is Prez), is a Twins fan. So we talk baseball all the time. As I was getting ready to leave, I said, "Well, I'll get home just in time to see (pitcher Scott) Linebrink blow this game." At the time, the Sox and Twins were tied 3-3. I got home and the Twins got a leadoff single in the ninth off Matt Thornton. The manager takes Thornton and brings in Tony Pena ... horrible reliever that we got from the Diamondbacks. Two outs later, the Twins put in a pinch-hitter who delivers the game-winning hit. Well, I just had the wrong pitcher blowing the game.
So baseball, which was fun for awhile for me, has ruined my summer now. The Sox can't hit, they can't field, the starting pitchers are OK, but the relief pitchers are suspect. Oh well, enough of baseball, I'm sure I'm boring you.
Woke up around 10 a.m. when the phone rang ... no one left a message. I have a headache, back ache and my knee hurts. Funny, because I went to the chiropractor yesterday after my psychologist appointment and felt better but now everything hurts. Not a cloud in the sky, so I don't think it's going to rain. Sure feels like it, though.
My boss got back to me about last Friday's fiasco ... he said he doesn't see me doing anything much for sports ever again. I'm happy about that. They don't want me there anyway, other than to proof. He didn't get a good answer as to why I didn't get any work.
My kitties are in here munching on food ... must be lunch time. I'm still on my first cup of coffee. I'm trying to figure out how I can survive on my budget this week. Anyone want to pitch in?
Well, enough of this ... I'm sure I'm boring you. Have a good day.
I officially started my 2 wk liquid diet this morning. The nurse yesterday gave me a list of simple shake recipes plus I've been saving them from folks here on OH for quite a while. Plus my order from Unjury came in yesterday so I'm set for all kinds of stuff.
I'm really glad my surgery is getting done before the end of the year. DH's company was sold! He, and just about every one else, found out about it on the news as he was getting ready for work this morning! At the meeting at work this morning no one knows much more than what was on the news so we're just waiting to see what changes will be made.
Sorry about hubby's company, though. My brother Gary works for AIG (the good part of that company, the life insurance arm); his office in Milwaukee is closing and he'll be out of a job in November. He's 57 ... good luck to him finding another job at his age. Well, he does have a degree in French education ... ha! That's done him a lot of good so far.
That's what scares me the most. DH is also 57. As a welder/fabricator he's never had problems finding jobs but at this age it would be hard to go back to working his rig. His fab skills will account for a lot, but large comp nies with benefits look at age first, not experience. We also worry about insurance coverage, especially for my followups and labs. But we refuse to worry about something that may never materialise!
