Brenda  -  I am so tickled to read of your time with Kayden.  He sounds like such an easy-going, loving  baby,  If truth be told, I am a little envious (but am more happy for you than envious).
I didn't have kids and am not married, so there are no babies around.  It would be nice, if after wls I find someone who has kids and grand kids - but then again, it might not be!!  Who knows?
I think I'll live vicariously through you for the time being!

Margaret, there is no problem living vicariously through Kayden and I...there is more than enough to share.

I never thought that I would be a Grandma since my 3 children didn't live and Shawn didn't like me. He never really wanted me to be a part of his life...he thought that he had to share his Dad.

Now as he has gotten older (he was 8 when we got married) he found out that he didn't have to share him with me and that there was more than enough love for all of us. I was surprised when one day he said to me that I would have made a wonderful Mom. I was touched.

Now he has told me that I make a wonderful Grandma. My heart is full of love for my little Kayden. As you can all tell by how I write about him. He is the light of my life and my heart too.

You never know what will happen down the road...you might be a Grandma someday. Don't cross it off your list that is for sure.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

HI George & All
I was still up, just not on the computer. Had a couple of hours sleep and already up this a.m. at my usual 6. Gotta stop this craziness sleep stuff.
Don't find out about back surgery till the 15th, just want it over & on the mend at this
point. Tired of the back pain & now sholder & neck pain, all related I am sure.
We had  good rain/lightning/thunder storms last night, very much needed in these parts.
I don't think the lightning caused any fires. I sure hope not. Don;'t need any more of
those. Hopefully some of this rain fizzled to Calif. to help them out with there fires.
Will most likely be a quiet day for me. Have to take this Computer apart later & clean
the dust & dirt out of it. It is a real pain, but, necessary when you live in the desert.
Have a good day & safe holiday weekend. I will be staying out of the traffic & crazy
travelers.

To change I would have to grow up.  I don't see that happening any time soon.

Welcome to OFF, Sybul!

DH had to go into work this morning so I'm getting some chores done. I'm on day 4 of my pre-op liquid diet and all is going well. I was expecting to be hungry but I'm having to make reminders to eat! Not sure what the rest of the weekend will be, depends on whether Doug has to work tomorrow or not. Can't complain, he still has a job so far. His company was bought out by Baker Hughes so everyone is sort of hanging until we find out what gonna happen.

Hi George and my OFF family:

George, your day sounds exhausting to me. I couldn't keep up. I thought I'd have more energy after WLS, and for a few months, I did ... I got this big burst of energy. But it left and never came back. I think it's the fibro. I am always tired, even after a good night's sleep.

I had a busy night at work last night. My boss threw a bunch of advance work on me after my daily stuff. I tried to get it done, but our computer system threw a wicked curveball at me (baseball slang here). I was just about finished with the one page and hit the wrong button ... the message came up: "Do you want to save the page and close it?" You get three options: Yes, No or Cancel. I hit cancel because I wasn't done and I didn't want to close. Then I got an error message, and the page disappeared. When I went back to get it, I got more error messages, saying the page was locked, the stories were locked. So I closed the program, opened it again from the desktop (as we were told to do when this happened) and thought I'd have my page mostly there. Well, there was nothing on the page, not even the page number (called the folio). So I had to rebuild everything, re-edit everything. Very time-consuming, I forgot a few things I had already done. So instead of getting the two things done for Monday, I only got the one page done. I was not happy.

As I was leaving, our night editor, Scott, asked what the other thing my boss wanted me to do, so he decided to do that (it was just one story). It was after 12:30 a.m. when I got out of there and I didn't want to work OT (because I wouldn't get paid for it).

Came home, watched part of the White Sox-Red Sox game til 3 a.m. and went to bed. ... had some problems sleeping for some reason ... probably because I was so stressed out by work/finances, etc.

Talked with mom this morning because I have to work tomorrow and won't be home when she usually calls (and don't want her to worry). She said Aunt Bernice, my 91-year-old aunt, is back in the nursing home, alert and playing cards with her grand-daughters and daughter and anyone else who comes to visit. So much for her dying within a week! I'm sure her cancer is terminal, but for now she's hanging on. If the ovarian cancer didn't kill her 30 years ago, I don't think this one is going to take her down quickly either. She's a fighter, a tough old bird. I wish I had her stamina. I have some of her qualities ... we both have a lot of aches and pains (I think she must have fibro too ... it does run in the family ... she is a lot like my dad, her brother).

Well, George, the White Sox won yesterday, 12-2 ... now that they're not contending, they found their hitting shoes. Too late, though. Hope your Rangers can stay in the wild-card race.

I guess I've babbled on long enough. I am making my chocolate zucchini cake today to bring in to work tomorrow for the holiday crew. I have the butter out to soften (otherwise, my mixer will get clogged ... I have a crappy mixer).

Have a good day.
