OT: suggestions please

I am a big fan of the plain black dress.  You can spiff it up with some bling.  I'd go with a string of pearls and matching earrings.  Avoid prints or really bright clothes.  The basic colors like navy blue, brown, or black or maybe a soft red.  If you don't want to wear a dress, get a pair of black slacks and a cute solid colored top and, again, go with pearls.  I think they make an evening outfit.
