Good morning Margo and everyone.....
Margo...I hope you were able to get some more sleep!! I am glad Roxie is okay but I am concerned. Gas for $2.24....now that is a deal...I thought I did good yesterday at $2.43.
Nothing much happening here. Last night a good friend of mine called and brought me over some fresh fish. He even cleaned and filleted them for me.I plan on cooking them up tonight.....some I will have to freeze as there is too many to cook at once. YUMMY!!!!
Today is the grand opening of my friends bar. It will be quite the event. It is a Country Western Bar. He is a singer and did his own gig for years so be knows the business. There will be three bands today and many other things planned. It should be a really fun time!!
Thats about it for me. I wish you all a great day!
Prayers for those in need.
Love and hugs for all.....connie d

Up early this morning as I had to be greeter at 8 a.m. church. Home now and in my comfortable clothes and going to just relax most of the day.
Making the zucchini soup for lunch, everything is chopped up ready to put it together. Will let you know if it's good.
Have book club tonite at 6:30 - will watch the Fed EX cup golf match this afternoon, and maybe get started on a new book.
Cleaned my garage yesterday, learned this morning they are going to start on our roof next Saturday -- about time! So it will be noisy and crowded around here for a while, but so worth it......it's way past time to have it redone.
Best wishes for a pleasant Saturday.

Done! Your Ticker:
I was up earlier but didn't post... up again so I better post. lol
I didn't have to work last night. I was so out of it that my neighbor had another neighbor watch his daughter so I could sleep in. Ohhhh that was nice knowing I could just sleep and not be aware of the time. Neighbor # 2 has two daughters and they have a sleep over. It is fun for the girls; noisy for Mom and I as we live below them.
Question: I'm hypoglycemic..... I wanted to take something for a sore throat and cough but all the labels show sugars in several forms. Since surgery what do you take? I took only Tylenol Plus and made time to sleep. I do feel better but still would like something for the throat & cough. Any suggestions?
I muddled through a case of tomatoes yesterday. I wasn't able to get them all canned, so I have that to do today. They are ready to go. We sure love the taste of homemade tomato soup, spaghetti sauce, chili base...etc.
My son is having his Welcome Home party tonight. He is roasting a pig and will have all kinds of fun foods. I want to go so badly but need to stay home and rest. He is known for his BBQ and Bonfires. Their friends are like family to me... sigh, I hate to miss it but need the rest,
I hope everyone has a great day filled with laughter, love & Joy

Hi Margo and my OFF family:
Looks like no one really slept much. I slept but fitfully. My back was acting up. Second night in a row, sciatic nerve causing me grief. It's about a month til I get another shot in the back, so it's not a big surprise, but it's a little more painful than usual. I dozed off for about 10 minutes sometime after midnight and then got up in pain ... had to take a second vicodin, it was so bad. Got an icepack to stick on the back and that seemed to help a little ... then put some biofreeze on it, too, and that helped. But I'm almost out of biofreeze and no money until Thursday (and not much, either).
So I'm up a little earlier than usual because I have to work at 1 p.m. I have to get ready soon to go to work. The only good thing about going in at 1 is I'll be out of there about 8 p.m. I have to do a wire page and the liner (the leftover page from the paid obits). Plus, I'll have to start the business page for Tuesday.
Made my chocolate zucchini cake to bring to work. As it was baking, I was on the phone with my friend Mary Kay ... she recently got home from a long trip (from Michigan to Louisiana to Missouri to Arizona to California and then on to an Alaskan cruise, then back to MIchigan ... a lot of it driving). As I was on the phone, I noticed all the cake batter on my t-shirt ... I really am a sloppy cook ... but some of it was on the back of my shirt ... now how did it get there? I had a good laugh about that.
Man, I'm really not up to working today ... the only thing driving me is the overtime pay ... no more double time or triple time. We are really getting screwed over now on the holidays (although technically this isn't a holiday, but we used to get double time for working the day before the holiday ... it was what got people to volunteer ... but no more!).
Well, I should sign off and get dressed. Margo, I'm curious to find out what happened to Roxie. I guess I'll have to read later on.
Have a good day.

I am officially a lazy slug. Yep, no two ways about it. Slept until 8:30, and here it is 11:00 and I'm still in my jammies. At least breakfast is done and a load of laundry is chugging along, so maybe it's not so bad after all?
Yester day was our 27th anniversary. Whew....time does fly. We went to a little hole in the wall restaurant called the Faded Rose where you can get the best New Orleans style food. I always order the shrimp creole since it's loaded with shrimp and veggies and gives me at least two meals. Gary had a po' boy sandwich and a small bowl of red beans and rice that I got a taste of. Yummo....
Margo, hope all is well with Roxy. You will let us know later, I hope.
Shari, congratulations on your 40th! The 5th was also my mother's birthday, so it's a special day, for sure.
Everyone else.....here's lots of hugs and good wishes to you for a wonderful weekend. Make it a good one!

Did anybody sleep well last night? Not here, that's for sure.
Susan, I have you beat - 1:15 and still in jammies.
Laundry, paperwork, some cleaning and cooking - jeepers, I haven't had time to shower yet.
Dylan (15 year old grand) called late last night and asked to come spend a few days before school starts. I couldn't tell him no but the groceries are not what a hungry boys wants to eat. I just handed him and Tom a grocery list.
Kisses
Annette

Aloha dear Margo and OFF family,
I am so sorry that so many of you had a rough night. Not sleeping can sure make a day miserable. I have had much trouble with insomnia, but the past week or so I have actually slept 6 to 7 hours straight....with a pee break or two. I am thankful!!
Yesterday I did more double plastic bagging of things before the termite tenting. Six big bags full now of pantry food, medicines, vitamins, etc. I won't tackle the frige/freezer until next Friday or Saturday since we have to be out on the 13th....tenting to begin on the 14th. The manager and the terminex crew will go through every condo to inspect BEFORE the tenting, and we are supposed to leave all drawers, closet doors, windows, etc. open! That makes me nervous, but I guess they would be responsible if anything gets stolen.
My two kitties seem to know something is up.......I have six big bags full of STUFF sitting in the hallway, and their two carriers open in the living room. I dread next Saturday when I have to get them into carriers and take them on a LONG drive upcountry. I love my two little furry friends and just HATE putting them through this trauma. Sigh.
Had a telephone conference with my PCP and she upped my antidepressants because I still feel low energy, sad a lot, and lack the joy I used to feel just looking at the ocean, etc. I'm sure hoping that this works.
Margo...waiting for Roxie story.
Annette...so nice that your grandson WANTS to spend time with you. I sure hope mine will when they are that age. Living in Hawaii might make it a cool place to go....Ha!
George.........You always seem to be running on an empty sleep tank...and I don't know how you do it. But, you sound happy so I won't worry about you too much.
Margo......Gasoline at $2.24!! Get ready for a shocker when you get to Hawaii. Yesterday unleaded was $3.79, highest octane was $3.99!! Back up to what it was when oil was selling for $125 a gallon.....we just don't get it here.
I got some very cool deals yesterday at Salvation army...it was 1/2 off day. I got a Jantzen swimsuit for $2.00, a long black slinky type dress for $2.00 (this was a specials rack), a cute sundress for everyday for $2.50 and a nightshirt for $2.50. All were like brand new. Great sales going on this weekend!
So......late as usual.....but I always read the posts and sometimes have time and energy to post. Thankful for those days....and EXTREMELY THANKFUL to all of you!
Aloha nui Loa,
