Another Newbie

Hi, my name is Barb and I had VSG on Aug 11. I am 53 yrs young, married, 3 kids, 4 grandkids and a big ole lazy Lab. I live in Ohio but am a native of Ky. My husband and I spent 20 yrs moving all over the world while he was active duty Air Force (now retired). He has retired a second time due to a job related injury and me I am trying to get healthy so that I can enjoy all this retirement time going on lol. Not to mention I need to get back into the work force! So the surgery and to the gym when I get the all clear from my surgeon. The best part of the surgery...I no longer am required to take meds for diabetes yay! Hope it remain that way.

A quick welcome to the board as I have to get ready to go to work. This is a great place to be. Congrats on your surgery and getting off the diabetes meds.

Several in here are retired military and are enjoying retirement.  Know the feeling of needing to get healthy to be able to work....   been there, doing that... lol

where in ohio? i'm up between toledo and fremont--raised my kids in lorain county.

I live in Xenia, tornado capital of Ohio, its about 20 miles southeast of Dayton.
