Welcome to OFF which to me idea and that of many of I think, is the best forum that OH has to offer. We offer a lot of caring and support and knowledge too.

We have a lot of chatting on here during the day so please feel free to join in with your favorite cuppa and join us.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask....like I said we have a lot of knowledge on this board.

Please post often so we can get to know you and again, welcome!

Welcome, Barb!

You'll like the atmosphere here on the OFF, I'm sure. I also had VSG, and frequently visit the VSG forum. Lots of whining and carrying on there lately. Here is so different! A wealth of information & experience, none of the  --DUH!-- moments.  Sometimes it's good to be old(er and wiser)!

Sounds like you're doing well. Ain't it great being off the diabetes meds???!! Going to the gym will boost your energy and metabolism and help keep you off those meds!

Hi and welcome.  I had RNY a few years ago and have not regretted one single minute.  Well, I take that back.  When I woke up in intensive care on a ventilator, I thought, what the hell have I done. Then, when I got home and felts so tired that first few days, I had a little buyer's remorse but these days, I am loving my life.  You will find that as the weight comes off, your life takes on a different and exciting turn.  Hold on and enjoy it all.

Good morning Barb.  I am retired Air Force, 10 years in Europe.  Loved every minute of it.  I had my surgery 21 months ago.  Extremely happy with life.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Hi, Barb,
A big welcome to your new life and our board here
I am also a native Kentuckian!!  Born and raised there for 48 of my 56 years.
I hope you will stick around here and let us enjoy your new WOW moments with you.  You'll have plenty.  Isn't it wonderful that our diabetes is now gone?  I love taking less medication.  My surgery, RNY, was on Aug. 11 of 2008.  What a difference a year makes.
Again, a big ole warm welcome to you!!
Pat A
