Yesterday was a blast ant the Grand Opening of my friend's bar!! The bands were awesome and the people were fun!!
Today is going to be a laid back kind of day...nothing really planned....some catching up on things to get done.

I am working today plus we are having a Labor Day support meeting tonight for the groups. Tomorrow would be a day off but I need to squeek in an extra day since I'll be away Thursday and Friday. My client has been complaining that she will miss me for two weeks. It may be a rough couple of days with her.
Dylan slept with the fan blwoing on him. I slept with the electric blanket on HIGH. He is almost as tall as Tom now. I really feel short around my two mwn.

Good Morning & Happy Labor Day to All!
Yesterday, I worked most of the day helping to set up my Daughter's Kindergarten class. What a job it is!!! Setting up all those wall displays, putting the children's names on all those little cutouts so they'll feel welcome, etc. I can see that some of the equipment needs a deep cleaning (or maybe paint?), but how can a busy Mom have time to do all this? Not only that, with the current budget cut-backs, they do not have $ for even some of the basics. She ended up buying a reading program on line for her children with her own money. I may end up helping her to print out and assemble the booklets for the children, but who will pay for the paper? She says unless the district somehow comes up with $ for paper, she may not be able to have homework papers for the children. I'm sure they'll muddle thru somehow. About 1 - 2 weeks after school starts, I'll go in the evaluate the current knowledge of each child (do they know colors, can they count, etc). I think I'll enjoy that. I think now that I would have enjoyed being a teacher. So, even without the credentials, I can help some with volunteer work.
I also lead a computer group at the Senior Living Facility where my Mother lives. We meet weekly and I help the seniors send and receive email from family & friends. It is so exciting when they receive messages & photos via email --- I can't explain how happy this makes them!!! When we have time, we surf the internet and learn more about anything and everything they are interested in. The biggest obstacle they face is using the mouse. Many of them have arthritus, some have parkinsons and/or palsy. Yet they keep trying & trying! The joy and sense of accomplishment they feel is not much different than working with children - so much fun for me!
Today, I will spend more time outside! I've been crocheting up a storm & my California suntan has faded, so today I'll try to get some color back in my cheeks (and probably add a number of new wrinkles too!).

michael has much difficulty with the mouse due to his shoulder accident so i can understand that about the seniors...

I to help out with my cousins class. I am cutting out letters today with my cricut for her room. I have like a million things to cut!!!!! I to had to provide the paper for the letters as she wanted bold colors and I asked her to give me the paper and she said that she had to buy it herself. The district is not giving her any more dollars for extra stuff. She teaches high school reading and english. So I baught the paper and will use it as a tax deduction.
Nothing much going on today. I am looking for a strappy pair of shoes to go with my dress I am wearing Saturday night. Cant seem to find anything cute. All funky styles!!!!!

I can just picture you cutting out all those letters! I image if you have the equipment, it must cost much less than buying them pre-cut at the teacher's supply. I envy you those strappy shoes (if you find them)..... Even tho I've lost weight, my calfs, ankles and feet are heavy & tend to retain fluid. I still haven't worn a pretty shoe in more than 15 years!!!!
