PC Prolbems
For about a week or so I have had alot of problems with my computer. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to such things but I think I finally found the problem and remedied it all by myself today. I was unable to post anything but could read every one elses' post. How frustrating that was. I need a new PC but I need other things worse so can't have everything. $$$$$$$. I've missed telling you all hello and that I am thinking of you every day.

There has been a lot of "funny business" around my PC for the last 6 mo or so. Things that used to work fine, now were misbehaving. All in all I had about 10 unrelated problems. I've had a lot of exp trouble shooting pc problems, but couldn't get past these 10 quirky irritations (although I could work around them). Finally, after talking to my Nephew, an IT guy, he told me that I probably had gotten a virus (even tho I have Norton Anti Virus & current updates daily). I got an extra drive so I could do a total backup of my files (a good thing to do anyway), then I did a "system restore", which basically put my PC back to a NEW condition. Then I had to reinstall all my software. After all this, the only problem I had was the DVD reader/writer, which still wouldn't work. I called HP & found out I had two weeks left on my 2 yr warranty. They sent a new DVD which arrived the very next day & now everything works 100%....... well, except that I lost one program, for which I didn't actually have the licenced program (shame on me!).
You mentioned a lot ot problems..... were they all resolved? For your sake, I hope so! It's amazing how much we come to rely on these machines!
