Good Morning,

Hump Day.....  seems like life is like a roller coaster too.  Without the downs the ups wouldn't be as wonderful.

I had a horrid evening.  My blood sugar went wild on me again.  I over ate on carbs and didn't realize it until too late.  What a mess.  I went from 243 to 69 back up to ?? then down to 55.  All within two hours.  It takes forever to get myself regulated so today will be a very food conscientious day.

The school system here has a strange set up.... to me at least.  Every Wed at noon the kids are let out after lunch.  Half days every Wed.  suppose to help the teachers with their planning etc.  So, I will have princess this afternoon.  I'm not sure what we will do.  Maybe take Mom to the library for more books.  She does like to play at the park at the library.   She also likes to get into my craft supplies and make things.  Options galore..... lol

That's my day and hopefully I can stick to it.....   Have a fun day and smile lots.

Last night we went to the WLS support group our clinic has monthly.  It was the second time we went.  It's good to hear others and their experiences.  I have to say I sure can see a pattern - with those that follow the recommendations there are many fewer problems.  I want to be like that.  I don't want to take any chances with the surgery outcome at all.

Otherwise, not too much excitement here in Minnesota.  I'm going to lunch with my girlfriends today, so that will be fun.  Although it is a pain to run to my car, drive over there, park, etc.  to be with them for an hour!

Hi All my OFF friends,
Very busy at work.  We have an ISO audit next week and we aren't ready yet.  I have lot's of things to look forward to but nothing going on right now.  A few of the grands birthdays are this month so I have to get their gifts in the mail.  We are planning to go see our new granddaughter on Columbus Day weekend.  My husbands 45th class reunion is at the end of the month.  We do a cousins weekend in Oct. that is just my sisters and maternal cousins.  All girls weekend with 10 of us.  This year we rented a log cabin in the Berkshires that has a hot tub.  We just relax and catch up.  I can't wait.
Oct. 2 I'm going for a fleuroscopy (sp?) to check out whether I've stretched my pouch and if all is well with the band.  I gained 25 lbs. since the beginning of the year. Yikes!  Some of it is old habits and not enough exercise.  I'm going to work hard to stay on track and see what comes of it by then.
Need to do a final weeding in my gardens before the fall frosts.  That way the ground will be ready for planting next year without too much effort.  I haven't seen many butterflies this year.  Our butterfly bush has always been full of them but this year we just had honey bees.  Anybody else notice that?
Have a good day.
Bev

Oh your cousins/sisters weekend sounds like such fun!! Yes Yes Yes, we are on the Monarch migration route and usually have a ton, plus the catipillers eat up my dill and parsley, I just plant extra because it is such a joy to have them around, this year I have seen very few butterflies and only one catipiller.sad sad

Hi Jean,
It is quite frightening that there were so few butterflies.  With that weird die off of bee hives that they can't figure out, I was wondering if it is affecting butterflies too.  So many people use chemicals on their lawns and crops . . . they don't realize what it's doing.  We invite birds to our property so we don't spray anything.  If plants live . . . good,  if they die or get eaten . . . oh well.

Our cousins weekend is so much fun - no husbands, no kids.  Sometimes we shop quaint little stores, or attend a local festival, we play games or do crafts.  We are divided between three states so we try to alternate states where we have it so at least someone doesn't have to drive so far.  We do Friday, Saturday, Sunday and go out on Saturday night for dinner.  The rest of the time we divy up the meal prep.  One time we did all hors' doerves (sp?).  Another time we all made family recipe cookbooks.  Everyone had to bring ten copies of a family secret recipe to share.  Most of us wrote a significant family story or a memory of a past loved one on each one.  One recipe was in the form of a poem written in our Grandmother's hand.  My Mom had 8 brothers and sisters so there are 29 cousins, 16 of which were girls.  Out of 16 we usually end up with about ten being able to make it.  We try to cap the cost at $80 per person for the accommodations for the whole weekend.  We have been very lucky in shopping for good deals with hotels/lodges.  Many of my friends ask if they can become my cousin so they can come on these trips. LOL.

Have a great day!
Bev

Good morning to you, Margo and my OFFer's. I am glad that today is Hump Day.....

Nothing much going on here today. Kayden isn't here today or tomorrow since Carol is off from work. He just tired me out yesterday just before he went home. He just screamed when I would put him down and then if I stood by him he would stop. I know that they held him all the time during the week end...and then this Grandma is the one that has to try to break him. I think that is a crock of crap if you ask me. I need the rest today. Enough said there..

I have to take my neighbor across the hall to the hospital tomorrow for her mammogram. I told her that I would so off we go tomorrow morning. She has been here once already today so I really hope that she doesn't keep it up. I just want some peace and quiet today....please. She is sweet and old (91) but she can be a pain in my bee hind for sure. I feel like I got another Mother and I think that I did my job with my own. I feel some hostility toward her family because they float around like the they own everything and they are so goody two shoes and they use Virginia something terrible. They don't want to take her to the doctor, to the store or any where else for that matter. They use her as a babysitter for their kids (her great grands) and yell at her and cuss at her like she is dirt on the bottom of their shoe. I think they should hang their heads in shame...but who asked me?

Nothing much more going on so I am getting out of Dodge for now. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are being said for everyone too. Have a great day and smile to spread happiness and sunshine around to those that might not have any in their life today.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Hi Margo and my OFF family:

Glad everything will be OK with your bank account. That is scary ... I check everyday online to see what's going on ... sometimes I don't want to know because I know I've screwed it up, but I need to know it anyway. Today I actually still have money in there! Not much, but it's there. There are a lot of weeks when I'm in the red, and that's not good.

Well, it looks like I'm going to Chicago this weekend for my sister-in-law's birthday. It will actually be a joint party for Margaret and my brother, Gary. Margaret's birthday is Sunday and Gary's is Sept. 19. I have a present for Margaret ... something I got through the book sale. I don't know if she'll like it or not. Margaret is a wonderful quilter, and these books were a series about a group of women who quilt (fiction). I thought maybe she'd like them. I hope so. I'm also going to make her some zucchini bread, my recipe from the gastric bypass cookbook. Margaret doesn't need to watch her weight, but she watches her cholesterol and sugars, so I think she'll like this. And her mother, Rina, who lives with them, also is diabetic, so she'll enjoy it.

As for Gary, I have some ideas, but I don't have the money this week to buy him anything. I may have to send him something. Or maybe I'll give him that bottle of wine I have in the fridge. I asked him what he wanted and the only thing he came up with was a GPS ... well, he knows I can't afford that. I know he likes his coffee, so maybe I'll get him some good decaf flavored coffee. We have a good place downtown that has a good variety of flavored decaf coffee, and they're not expensive. So that may be a plan.

Easy day at work, but I was so tired I didn't do much when I got home. White Sox got thumped, so I watched some of the Giant game and then went to bed about 1 a.m. I slept until 8, when the lawn mowing started (it's Wednesday), then at 9, the pounding started at the condos across the way. Finally, I got up when the lawn mowing got closer again at 10:30. Even with windows closed, you can hear all this.

Well, that's all that's going on here. Have a good day.

Hi Gang!!
I am back, I know you did not know I was gone. Had computer problems for a couple of days. Not because I took it apart, cause I have not done that yet. Got a
bug or something & had to clean it up before it attacked everything.
I slept  pretty darn good last night. A nice change.
My neighbor is coming home today from hospital, being released by Dr's this time & not on her own. She looked better last night than she has is over a month. That is good
news, I hope it continues & the rough stuff is gone for good.
I had lots of prayers coming in for her.
NOt much else in the works for today!!
Have a great day & don't forget to Smile, It always helps!!
