Hi, a quick check in. My boss is off making some students lives miserable. Now and then we will have nursing students for a rotation. This is the first time this boss has had students, Chris, my last boss woul dmeet with them for about 30 minutes once a week to check in on their project. This boss has had them and their instructor in a room for almost 2 hours, all Ican do is laugh..and be gladthey are keeping her out of my hair.
My granddaughter and I had ( what I consider) the PERFECT Labor Day. We went out into the back roads of Iowa finding cemetaries. I have loads of pictures. Also found a walnut tree so picket up walnuts ( hope they are black walnuts) and at one we were smack against a field of field corn so I picked some that was hanging over the fence, I will have some very happy squirrels. I found a cemetary in town that has apple trees, so I will soon be loading up on them too. After a day of exploring we went to Ameristar for dinner. Just a relaxing day.It is becoming the time of year where I have a lot of Legion functions so that will keep me busy and soon I will have to clean up the garden for the winter. Winter with no car is scaring me to death. I picked a basket full of peppers and brought it  into work for people to take, they are so pretty all the colors and shapes. I better be back to work. Blessings

Aloha OFF family....

Wow...lots going on. I'm taking a few minutes on here before I have to go to work....all day. This is just for the month of September.....Wed. filling in for receptionist at agency where I do the baby hearing screening. Yesterday was my day of testing babies, and I arrived at the hospital at 5:30, and was there for 5.5 hours.....with only seven babies. Usually I could do 7 babies in about 3 hours......but two of these babies did NOT want to pass, and I took them back to their mothers to feed them and tried them again at the end.....and got both of them to pass....thank God!

This is a bad week to be working because it is the week I'm having to get condo ready for termite tenting. I am most worried about my kitties and taking them upcountry Maui on Sat. I have two open carriers in the living room, and yesterday I tried putting some salad shrimp , and BOTH kitties went in to get that shrimp...their favorite food in the whole world. So, I'm hoping Sat. I can do that same and just nudge them all the way in and slam the door. HATE doing this.....but I don't have a choice. Thurs. and Fri. I'll be moving stuff next door, and bagging everything in frige and freezer.....not fun!

Judy, I am so happy about your car news! You so deserved a break.

Susan.....you and I are almost surgery twins.......just a month apart. I should be seeing my surgeon...but they haven't called.

Margo....good luck with realtor. You have your hands full, too, these days. Such a HUGE adventure ahead of you. I hope you have mostly smooth sailing!

Marc....I'm so sorry you are still in pain. Do you have some good pain meds to help at work? Hope so.

Eileen.......I used to wear size 11, but since surgery I can now wear 10s....amazing. I mostly wear "slippers" (Hawaiian word for flip flops) and rarely put on real shoes. Only when I go to the mainland do I need to put on shoes. Nice.

Well, my friends...it's off to work. I hope you all have a good day...and accomplish everything you hope to accomplish.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

I know this will be tough on you and your kitties. I can't imagine having to do that to my babies, putting them in a strange place. I know I put Kittle (now deceased) in the vet clinic kennel when he was diabetic and I went home once ... I so regretted it because I knew he was scared and didn't like it there, but I didn't have a cat sitter I felt could give  him insulin for a week while I was home in Chicago.

Hey, if you need a cat sitter next year, I'm available. Would love to come to Maui and kitty sit for you. I might have money next year again!

Good afternoon Margo and everyone.....

Another hectic day!! I had a couple things to do this AM so I didn't get started working until about 10:00. I will be trying to catch up all the rest of the day.

Beautiful day here today. The sun is shining brightly and the temp is 72 degrees. I wish I had time to go out and enjoy it!!

I am glad everyone is going okay. I will check in later when I have more time.

Share a smile with a stranger. Prayers to those in need.

Love and hugs to all......connie d

Well, I've been on the computer all morning and half of the afternoon already.  My back is killing me from sitting here.  I unpacked one box, but haven't put everything away yet.  I should just sign off and quit reading, but this is addicting.  I'm tired now and will probably take a nap.
Today is a lazy, breezy, sunshiney day and absolutely gorgeous!
Hope everyone enjoys their day.

I have to get the cookies in the mail to her & also some to my son. I also need to can green beans & tomatoes & beets when I get home. ( I hope they lasted this last week!) Please take care everyone & appreciate all you have

Nan,
My prayers are with you as Jaime goes off to the middle east. He is in my heart.
Tell Morgan that I am going thru testing too. I have my scan next Wednesday after I get back from Dallas. I am thinkin gof her too.
I am packed and ready to go to Dallas tomorrow morning. I cant wait to get there. The anticipation is killing me.
I went to the doc today cause I pinched a nerve in my leg. I dont know how I did it. She gave me some kind of Herbal Pill to take. Said it works wonders and is easy on my little stomach. I hope it takes away this appitite I have recently.
By the way I did manage to loose 4 pounds from the 20 I gained!!!!!

Good job on the weight loss Carla. I am afraid to get on the scale when I get home.

Jamie is doing great. Of course we are all worried about Morgan, but she is awesome. I talked to her when she was in for one of her tests today. I had to promise to send her cookies next week.

I hope you all have a great time in Dallas, tell Janet we all said Happy Birthday!!!! Hope the pill works for your pain & be carefull on the plane.

Nan, don't worry about me.  You've got a lot on your plate right now.  I'll be here for many years.  We'll have plenty of time to make a connection.  My prayers will include your son and your family now.  Tell him Thank You from me.  He is making such a sacrifice for me/us.  I truly appreciate it.
Make your cookies and relax.  Give me a call when you're back to normal.  I'm still unpacking and have to have cable installed probably next week, after I get the modem that I bought from Amazon.  I know I'd watch too much TV and not get the unpacking done if I got the cable installed now.  It's better to be limited.  I'm watching the president on health care reform right now.
Have a safe trip home.
I'll see ya when I see ya.
