My friend Flicka
I remember My Friend Flicka!!! I loved that show.
When I was a little girl (that statement dates me!!!), both my sister and I had ponies. We had a little wagon that the male pony would take us around in - to fairs, etc. We also had a wonderful red saddle that we used on the same pony. We had so much fun!!!
Okay - anyone remember Sky King??? That really dates me!

When I was little I had a sense of entitlement about My Friend Flicka, because I'm Swedish and Flicka is Swedish for "Little Girl". I was as proud of that as if I'd made it up myself! I too, loved Sky King. When the TV man said "Out of the blue of the Western Sky comes........SKY KING!", we kids would yell it out. Going back farther, does anyone remember a show called I Married Joan? I would love to see an episode of it now, since I was too young to "get it" back in the 50s. It was on in the mornings, along with Jack LaLane, I Love Lucy, and Queen for a Day.
Marti,
You can watch the episodes on youtube.

I didn't know that "Flicka" actually meant something!! Thanks for enlightening me.
I also remember Queen for a Day. Even as a kid I felt so sorry for those women. Their sad stories would be told and then only one (as I recall) would be chosen Queen for a day and the others would leave the stage. I was happy for the woman who won but sad for the others.
My mother was always glued to the TV when that show was on. I can see the face of the host of the show, but I don't remember his name.
Who was in "I Married Joan"? I don't remember the title, but I may remember the show if I know some of the actors in it.
Thanks.
Margaret
