Good morning all, it's the beginning of a very busy weekend for me.  I will report on it Sunday.  I am trying to figure out when I will be able to sleep this weekend.  The Rangers have 3 ball games.  A friend's band is playing at a bar/grill/restaurant we go to.  Granddaughter's birthday party.  Sunday School.  Church.

Plus who knows what else will be going on.

But please take a moment of your day to remember those who gave their lives on 9/11/01.

Also,

What are you up to this weekend?

Good Morning..thank you George for the encouragement to post in more often.
I'm on my way to school this morning..I'm a teacher in Vestal, NY.

Last weekend was spent in the hospital with severe abd. pain so this weekend I have to catch up with housework and just rest.  Might go shopping and I will be seeing my granddaughter too.  She is just finishing up her first week of KINDERGARTEN!!!  My gosh...where has the time gone???
Might do some yard work if it doesn't rain too much, but this is NY and it always rains when you plan to be outdoors!
   Have a great Friday.

marcy i meant to say hello and welcome a-board but my brain was in fast gear and my fingers weren't working!

it's great to see you post and to get to know you!

is this your eldest grand going to kindergarten?

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Margo,
Thank you for the welcome.  She is actually my only grandchild and so far she loves kindergarten.  She keeps telling me that I was right...kindergarten is so much fun.  I teach the deaf and hearing impaired so I work with kids from K-12.  I've been trying to prepare her for this all year.  Guess it worked.  She and I are "hanging" together tonight while her mom works!

If you were in the hosp last weekend, don't over do it this weekend.  Take care of yourself.

I won't over do.  Hospital visits , tests, one doctor I don't like, and a suggestion that maybe I needed to see a shrink ( all because they can't find a reason for my pain).  Long story and it just makes me mad...but I'm just doing life and let them worry about it.

Thank you for your concern.  have fun listening to the band!!

My mother lives in Deposit.

Tell us some more about yourself.  Maybe even start a thread, just to say hi and to introduce yourself.

I'll do that this afternoon...right now I 'm on my way to school.  Big day as all of my schools have opened except the high school.  It was kept closed for a chemical spill in a science lab.  So I'm off to see my High school students for the 1st time since June.

have a great day everyone and I'll give more info about me this afternoon after school.

Welcome to OFF, Marcy and know that you have found the best forum that OH has to offer.

If there is ever a question or tidbit of information that you would like to share with us we are always welcoming both.

Thanks for joining our little family and for joining right in with our chats.

I find it interesting that you teach the deaf and hard of hearing. I have several deaf relatives and several hard of hearing ones too. I know some sign language...enough that I can talk with Aunt and Uncle but not enough to go to fast doing it. If you know what I mean.

I have several cousins that interpret. One for the high school and one for the Catholic church. She has traveled all over the world working for them....she loves doing it. Another cousin that interprets too and one that is learning. I have thought about it but I know that I couldn't do it right....the remembering just isn't there anymore.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Welcome to OFF! Meant to do that last night. I always thought it would be interesting working with the deaf ... I was fascinated with Helen Keller's story as a teenager (I saw "The Miracle Worker" and then had to learn as much as I could about Helen Keller, then I was really interested in sign language.)

What a rewarding job you must have. Good for you for working with these kids!
