what's New Revue
Yeah, sorry, the Angels pounded my White Sox ... didn'****ch the game, but monitored it from work. Got home just as the game got over and didn't bother to watch it. No need getting depressed. Watched the end of the Rockies game and saw them rally to beat San Diego. Kind of exciting. Think I'm becoming a Rockies fan again.
Good morning Jeannie & all. We made it back from N. Carolina last night.
I did great until my son got on the bus to go to the airport. He did e-mail us late last night saying he was almost to his destination. He also said they fed him him good. We brought back his guitars, amps, & various musical stuff. It too all the room in our dodge ram. Since the divorce music & the Army is his life.
Jeannie I hope you figure out a way to sleep. I have bouts of insominia & it isn't fun. George with being gone for 10 days I haven't followed baseball much. Now that I am home that will change.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Well today will be pretty quite - going to spend some time getting started with DH on clearing out some of the garage - this will probably be the start of about 5 times of doing this, but if we want to get a car in there for the winter we have to start somewhere. Since my FIL died all his stuff went in there. Going to be a bit emotional....
On the good side, I got to spend yesterday with my grand Elizabeth so mom could take new baby to the doctor for a checkup.
Will read more about you all later.

Hi Jeannie and my OFF family:
I couldn't sleep last night, either, and almost got up and started the thread. My problem is pain ... this time my right knee (the replacement one). Actually my left knee felt OK yesterday, so maybe what the chiropractor did helped. I went to bed about 2 a.m. and read for awhile ... an interesting book called "The 13th Apostle" ... sort of like "The DaVinci Code" ... a thriller about a mysterious scroll that both Christians and Muslims want to destroy for different reasons. I'm really engrossed in it. Anyway, I was tired so I put it down and then I couldn't sleep. My knee hurt, I was really itchy ... so I got up, took another painkiller, put some more BioFreeze on my knee and put an ice pack on my lower back and read some more. Tried to sleep again about 5 a.m. and slept OK, but now I've got a headache. Not good, considering I have to work at 3 p.m.
Work was hectic last night. I got my pages done OK, but the woman doing the local section struggled, so I helped her out, then I had to help out sports. It was a busy night. Tonight figures to be busy too because we only have three people ... we have been having four on Saturdays, but my boss only scheduled three. Hopefully, it will be enough.
I have to get my bag packed for my quick trip to Chicago over the weekend for my sister-in-law's birthday party. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Hopefully, her son and daughter-in-law will be there with their baby. I haven't seen her yet. And of course, my niece Andrea and her two boys ... they always make me laugh.
Well, have a good day.

Hi everyone - I'm on my way to see Julie and Julia, but I wanted t stop in and say "hi" before i go.
Well, the first week of teaching is over! It was a great week - there were classroom mix ups, and students who hadn't bought their books yet and students who weren't sure where they were going - but that is the normal first week of the semester. LOL It's exciting to be back in the fray.
I have 103 English students. Stupidly, I gave them all a skills assessment, which will help me determine the aspects of the course that will be a priority. What is stupid about this is that I didn't have them answer on the scantron cards, which are then read and marked by a machine and given back to me. Oy veh!! So I will be marking tonight - what a way to spend the first weekend of school!
I had an echo cardiogram this morning. This will be followed up by a nuclear stress test next week. Since my sister died of congestive heart failure in June, and since I am 100 pounds over weight, I thought that it would be in my best interest to see how my heart is (I also want to know before surgery). I'll find out the results in soon and report back.
Tomorrow there is a tree planting ceremony for my sister who died not quite three months ago. I'm sure that it will prove to be a sad affair, but it brings another aspect of closure to her death. We four siblings left will be there - missing her (Kathy)
Everyone have a wonderful weekend. I hope that your weather is like mine - warm and sunny during the day and cool at night - my favourite!
Hugs Margaret Bon appetit (that's my reference to Julia Child LOL)

Margaret,
I'm so sorry you lost your sister. Such a sad time in your life. I think it is wonderful that a tree will be planted in her honor. My sister Kathy is in a care facility right now. We thought we were going to lose her too but so far she is coming back. We don't have a definite diagnosis for her. Her recovery is very slow and we don't know how much of a recovery she will make.
I wish you the best on your surgery. Is is soon?
Millie

I loved Julie and Julia. It was a good chick flick. My girlfriend took me to see it on my birthday.
I lost my sister Sue, October 24, 2006. she was 60 and had heart disease and diabetes. Her's is the only grave I visit. I don't need to go to my parent's grave, but I feel the need to visit Sue. I think it'll be great to see a tree growing in honor of Kathy. We planted a blue spruce when my oldest son was born and it's now way past the roof. Neat to remember his birth by.
The weather here in northern michigan is beautiful, sunny and high 70's. Nothing better!
