Learning to accept the help & sacrifices from others is hard.  They do it out of love and concern for you.  Being a good receiver of their love & support is as important as being a good giver;  A two way street.

You are in our thoughts and prayers... we will miss you.  Does someone here on OFF have any way of contacting you or your family to get updates on your health?  It would be nice to hear about your surgery and progress.

Grammy:

You have no reason to feel guilty.  Your family, of course, wants to be there for you. I want to be there for you ... your OFF family wants to be there for you. That's what families do (unless you're my sister, and she complained when she had to take my mother for her outpatient operation to have her breast tumor removed ... but that's my sister ... not your family ... I would have gone in a heartbeat but I lived farther away!)

It sounds like they caught it early and maybe the prognosis is good, although having it in the liver is scary. You are in my thoughts ... you are a religious person, so giving up your fears to God may help  you. Please know that all of us care deeply about you. If there's anything we can do, let us know. You said something about books ... I have lots of them ... what do you like to read?

We love you and wish the best. Hang in there ...

Grammy,

I am so sorry to hear this news.  Be positive, miracles happen every day and one can certainly come your way.  Always have hope.  Your family loves you and I'm sure they would NOT have it any other way than to be there for you.  I certainly do understand how you feel.

Prayers and blessings for an uneventful, speedy recovery!

Don't feel guilty.... feel  honored.  That you mean that much to them, shows what a good person you are.  And what a good job you did in raising your kids.

God bless you.  And of course, prayers are being offered.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I know God will see us through this.

I am so blessed to have the loving family that I have.

We know about FMLA, thanks.  My daughter or son could use it.  It does not extend to in-laws, so my daughter-in-law can't use it.  And she is the one who will be doing the most.  Of course, FMLA can only be used after you have used up all your sick and vacation days.

I will get my daughter to give ya'll an update on Thursday or Friday.  Then when I get back from the hospital, I'll get back on here.

You guys are the best.  Thanks again for your concern.
