Talk about a turn-a-round!!
This is pretty amazing (to me anyhoo)
In the past few weeks, because of my back injury, I have gone from;
(a) barely able to get off the couch
(b) barely able to drive
(c) sleepless, pain filled nights
(d) endless doctor and PT visits
(e) restricted hours and duties at work (and loss of pay)
TO:
Saturday -
(a) 30 minutes on the recumbant bike followed by 10 minutes of PT ordered back stretches and exercise followed immediately by 25 minutes on the treadmill.
(b) a couple of hours on the lathe... 2 bowls..
(c) mowed, weed-whacked, and edged the lawns
(d) Walmart shopping
(e) Sex with 3 ladies at the No-Tell Motel (OK.. I lied) (Only 2
) (just seeing if you are awake)
(f) more shop time, made a mens dresser valet
Sunday -
(a) Church
(b) Out to lunch with the in laws
(c) took apart, repaired and re9hung closet doors
(d) Moved all the living room furniture and cleaned carpets
(e) Moved it all back when dry
This is really hard for me to believe... like, at any moment all that horrible back pain will return or I will wake up and this is just a dream...
All I can say is that I follow directions, when they come from someone I have respect for, and this was a very caring and knowledgable Physical Therapist.
On the last PT session, I gave him one of my best pens that I make... nice to meet someone who takes pride in their work and cares for his patients....
I sure feel better! ... still some pain, but a lot better than I had ever hoped!

I am so glad that you are feeling so much better, Marc. Just make sure not to overdo because it can sneak back up on you...and this comes from someone with a really bad back. I know that from experience. Just pace yourself with the things that you want to do and don't forget to rest at times too.
I am always amazed at the nurses and other medical people. I see the ones that are at their "job" and then I see the ones that really and truly love doing the work that they do. Some see you as dollar signs and others see you as someone that they can help to feel better. I have great respect for them.

Good for you Marc.....But don't over do or you'll probably regret it. Do you lay ceramic tile? I could sure use someone to come do that job for me. I have a small powder room/laundry room that needs the job done. My husband has promised me for 6 months now but he's too busy......(famous last words..haha)
Seriously, Marc, I am glad you are feeling much better.
