THANKYOU ONCE AGAIN...
gosh so many of you have posted to me and i wish i could respond to each of you one by one but this old pc is so darn slow!!!! (((OFF))) THANKYOU!!!! from the bottom of my heart!!!!
the memorial service will be wednesday so i am leaving here tomorrow night after i get out of work at 5. should arrive in saginaw about 11 if rick doesn't have to pee every rest stop...got a good price on motel for 2 nights so now i can see my family some before the service wednesday. i found the CD that has the song gary wanted at his services. its vince gill's GO REST HIGH ON THAT MOUNTAIN. i played it and that was a mistake...tore me up big time!!! i know its going to be like that at his memorial service too...
if anyone would like to read his obituary you can go to casefuneralhome.com and find his name and it will take you to it. when i went to it there it was his photo from our honeymoon...sighs......you can sign the guest book if you like also. wish i could read all the posts but i don't think it works that way.
when i talked to his daughter tonight she told me that they had the priest come in and give him his last rites...when the priest was done he looked up and asked how he was and then started talking to everyone in the room like he was ok...the next night his son and daughterinlaw went to see him and he asked her if she made him any cookies...they thought he was making a come back again...the next day the nurse was in his room and he was doing ok and she left for a minute and his alarm went off...he passed away...and no he never had his eye taken out. he has been cremated and only the service at the grave will be done.
GO REST HIGH ON THAT MOUNTAIN GARY....YOUR TROUBLED LIFE IS DONE!!!
thanksyou connie!!! vince gill was one of garys favorite country singers. we were lucky to get to see him in concert a couple times and i loved vince too!!! ever since gary heard that song he said thats what he wanted for his funeral song. its going to be a tear jerker for me i know for sure....and for the rest i am sure it will tear them up as well.
getting my things packed and then i work 1-5 then off we go to michigan. phyllis and jon will be meeting up with us and she said they will also go to the service to support me. when i met phyllis just months before my WLS she has been my guardian angel and i thank GOD for sending her my way!!!
thakyou for being supportive to me at this time connie and for all the other times here as well!!!

Wishing you a safe trip to Saginaw and the strength to get through the next couple of days.

I'm sure it'll be hard attending the memorial. I don't know why you got divorced, but you loved this man enough at one time to marry him, and you never totally lose that place in your heart for him. I'll have to go on-line and listen to that song, as I don't know it, but I hope Gary rests peacefully on that high mountain, and I hope you can rest peacefully now too.
My heart goes out to you.

edit: Just went to Utube and listened to it and looked up the lyrics. OMG, I'd be a basket case at the memorial. Hugs going to you.
