What's new revue-it's Tuesday!

Another beautiful day in Michigan today.  I just can't believe the weather we've been having!  I hope this is a precurser to what winter will be like this year.  Today hubby is going to look at a used Sears garden tractor with tons of attachments.  Men and their toys...but we really need it to cut all this grass we've got now.  It's just a half an acre, but it's sure a lot more than a city lot we had before.
My brother is fishing again this morning and I'm hoping against hope he comes home with a fresh salmon for dinner.  He's tried the past 3 days, had fish on, but didn't land them.  Last night he asked if I wanted to go out for dinner, and I said no, I think I'm just going to open a can of salmon!  He didn't think it was very funny, but took it well :)
After my shower today I'm going to tackle my big bin of purses and shoes and try to find places to put them all.  Then I'll load stuff into the car and make another trip to Good will or the womans resource center.  I hope IRS doesn't question how much in donations I contribute this year,  I've got everything itemized  and it's really a lot.  Luckily Good will gives you a listing of how much you can claim as far as items value.  It helps alot, as does the write off.
I'm doing much better getting in my exercise.  The doctor's office said walking just isn't enough, but I feel it is.  I've been going longer and longer.  Yesterday I took the dogs out and went two miles.  It may not seem like much of a distance to alot of you, but for me it's a real feat.  I almost had to pick Digger up and carry him home.  They were sniffing in some weeds, so I stopped to let them sniff, and he laid down and didn't want to get up again!  It was sort of cute, but there's no way I was going to pick him up and carry him.  They've got short little legs, so have to take many more steps to my one.  I'm bound and determined to get them back into shape from all the cookies hubby feeds them!
Looks like I'm just full of hot air this morning.  Guess I'll go make a pot of my new caramel pecan coffee and take my shower and get going for the day.
Hope everyone makes the best of today that they can.
Good thoughts and wished to everyone that can use them.

Good morning OFF friends,

I have a four-week follow up appointment with the surgeon at 10:30 a.m.  I am having such a difficult time tolerating protein drinks....they are making me so nauseous.  I have a list of questions for him, so I hope I leave with most of them being answered.  I've been trying desperately to get protein in without the supplements.  I have spent so much money trying new products with no luck.  I ordered something from the Internet and hopefully this one will agree with me.  Other than that, I'm doing pretty good.

Weather here is just gorgeous.  I've been walking on my treadmill 30 minutes, so I'm hoping the surgeon tells me today I can exercise with an elevation, which gives you a better workout.

Well, that's all going on in my neck of the woods.  Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Just a trick I learned from the support group, have you tried putting your protein drinks in a sports top bottle?  If you can't smell the protein, it helps to keep from making you nauseous.  I also miked mine with crushed ice to make sure they were really cold.  Just  a thought.

Thanks for the tip.  I have not tried a sports top bottle, but I have tried adding ice to them.  I'm hoping the new one I ordered agrees with me; it might be here today.

I think 2 miles is great and I am sure many  if not all of us do.  I need to up my exercise too.  Yesterday I got on my recumbent bike and rode 20 minutes.  I felt it in my thighs by the time I had peddaled 5 minutes.  That's soooo bad.  I used to ride for an hour a few weeks after knee surgery, so I am soooo  not in good shape.  Will try to increase the minutes each day.  It has been such a hot summer I didn't get out to walk.  That should imporve in the next few weeks.

Jan,

Walking is a great start, but one of the things you might want to incorporate are weights, you can use cans in your cabinets to get started, or load a backpack with some books for additional weight while you walk.   Simple things work in the beginning, but as time goes on our bodies adjust, so we need to challenge it a bit.

Have a great day!  and hope you get your salmon soon ;)

My brother returned this morning without salmon.  Darn, but he had a good time and had a couple of fish on, so that's the important thing.  He's 7 years older than me and just retired.  He's enjoying it immencely.  Thank goodness.  I've got frozen salmon (marinated) from Costco in the freezer, so that'll probably be dinner tonight.

But I had the surgery so I did not have to carry around extra weight.  LOL.

Happy Tuesday!! I slept 8 hours last night. WOW that is a lot for me, my usual is around 6 if I am lucky. I guess I needed it, since it had been about 24 since I had any
at all.  The weather here has been pretty nice only 100 yesterday & today should only
be in the 90"s. Fall is on it's way. We really have had a pretty mild summer out here in
the AZ Desert. I have been here 10 yrs now & have been through summers where it
has been 120 or higher for weeks. I think we only hit 120 a couple of times this year.
That is just fine with me, I will take the mild stuff. NO rain in forecast just wind. We are
use to the wind around these parts. We put the Windy city to shame on many days.
Not much else in the works today, probably finish cleanint apt. started the other day
with the windows, floors & did not quite get the floors complete. so will most likely
finish the kitchen floor.
Enjoyed the football games last night. YEAH Chargers for pulling that one out. It wasn't a pretty win, but, still a win. I ove it, when they where their powder blue uniforms from the old days. Go out & make it a good day!!
Hugs & prayers to all!!

Perhaps you slept so well last night because you got such good news yesterday ;)

Have a great day!
