No, I am not looking for someone else, I am looking for advice for me....I am in a terrible situation and my thoughts are playing tricks on me ( so to speak) this is a new phase in my life, i'm sure of it.. 52 woman here ..  not really doing the crying spells , more like the anger spells and wondering what Antidepressant works best for that? I know Celexa works good for crying spells not sure about anger issues...I dont want to see a doctor about this just yet,, because they just throw anything at ya, and put you thru so much trial and error. I dont have time to waste with that..

I actually prefer to go the Natural Cures route but i know i cant afford that.....I just know that I need to do something quick...I came to the 50's forum hoping to get some mature  responces....I have an Ex Sister in Law situation , Dont want to go into details ,  I will go get therapy next, but i'd like to hear from other's here to tell me what  they think ,if you've already been there ,, about the anti depressant question ..Maybe someone here been thru the menopause struggle? ...thanks  Wendy.

I vote for getting advise from a doctor.  I've never had anger issues, so I couldn't be of any help with that.  I do take antidepressants, but more to keep my moods in check, the tearful ones.
Sorry.
It is what it is.

Wendy, I can relate about the anger problem. My self medicating just kept me away from the help I truely needed. I understand this isn't the answer you are looking for, but there is help for you . Please ask your Doc. to send you to a menopause specialest .
Take the best care of you . Peg

Wendy,
I have been on Effexor XR, it fit my purpose-not sleeping, anger (I didn't know I had), weepy at times, and just more in control, which gave me  more confidence..
Last year I moved, then had the surgery, and I am really having trouble getting everyone on the same page.  The dr. I use now, gave me a prescription for Effexor, leaving off the XR.  When I took it to the pharmacy, They gave me a generic --double wrong!  So next week, I'll start over, although I seem to be getting along pretty good without it.  Just weapy at times.
My neice is a rep for Wyeth, a drug company, and has studied pretty extensively on antidepressants.  I am so glad I listened to her.

I'm on Effexor XR also, and it seems to be absorbed well after RNY.   I'm only weepy when I forget to take it for a few days.    I also took wellbutrin but have eliminated that one after surgery.  If our internal chemistry is whacked, it's hard to find home remedies that work.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do.   Life is too short to spend it angry and crying!
