What's new Saturday
Just sitting here at work, twiddling my thumbs, waiting for sports to give me some pages to proof so I can get out of here and go home. So I thought I'd start the daily thread.
Left home a little earlier because my cable was out. Hope it's back on when I get home or Comcast will hear my wrath. I was not happy when it went out just before 2 p.m. I got a call back from the customer service rep, who assured me it wasn't just my TV but an area-wide problem, and should be resolved soon (it wasn't ... it was still out when I went to work at 4).
Well, post away. I have to work again tonight (Saturday night, that is). If I ever get to leave from my Friday night shift ...
I'm glad you started the thread. I'm getting ready for bed and I prefer to "thread" now since my time zone is so far behind yours that I feel like I'm always "bringing up the rear". I just got home from Bunco... had a great time. It's a group of teachers, secretaries, paraprofessionals and me of course. I was very lucky- I won the "Last Bunco" and "Highest Score" prizes, I think about $32. On top of that we laughed and chatted for three hours.
Tomorrow we are attending a BIG wedding! It's an outdoor wedding and it should be a beautiful day- low 90's. I plan to dance the night away! Then we are staying in a hotel so we won't have to drive far. On Sunday I plan to go to a stamping party- I love my art projects and those parties are fun for me.
Oh- my plastic surgery plans have been dashed... the insurance company has denied me... no panni, no boobs. I could fight for the boobs (they should be covered because of the breast cancer) but without the lower body lift I don't really care that much about getting the boobs done. I'll just bide my time... maybe something will change that would make the surgery less expensive- or maybe I just need to live with the extra skin. It's not a big deal in the scheme of things.
Enjoy your weekend everyone...
Julia
Good morning, my OFF'r friends!!!
Eileen, I hope your cable gets fixed pronto. It's frustrating when I don't get my Law & Order fix.
Julia, I understand about the surgery stuff..... please check with a teaching hospital...plastic surgery residency program. I went to a surgeon about getting a panni.... insurance wouldn't pay for anything else.... so I went to the med school..it was cash pay but it was peanuts (1/3) to what the private sector charged. Maybe boobie coverage and cash pay at the med school?
I'm happy with my tummy tuck and butt hike ($6,000). I'm driving my facelift. Darn wreck.
Several of us tried to get a Bunco group together. Just couldn't get it off the ground. Loved the few times we played, however. Would love to try again.
Nothing going on in my world today except clean underwear, a made up bed, stuff in the dishwasher.... but..... Grapevine is having a Grapefest... and if it's not raining... AGAIN... I may venture out.
Take the hugs if you need'em, friends... and all the support you need from me, don't take more than you need, my bucket runs thin sometimes..but right now it's full and overflowing.
Janet
But if it went any longer ... I needed the cable for the big sports weekend ... football and baseball on Sunday, and I'm off ... what would I do?

We have satellite instead of cable and every time it rains hard (which seems like a daily occurrence nowadays) the thing goes out. Of course, it ALWAYS goes out when there is a severe thunderstorm, not good when you rely on the weather guys to tell you if a tornado is knocking on your door. We always have a weather radio on during storms, just in case, but it's kind of ironic that the weather guys are telling you to take cover and you can't see/hear them. Such is life in tornado ally.
Early day for me, and longer than I expected, but that just means more $$ at the end of the day. I'm going to try to wean myself off of my dependence on lattes....

Still raining, starting to think about boating to work.
Gotta run....take care of yourselves
Susan
No, I am not on suicide watch. Had a great time with my son last night. Even if there was not much fun on the field. The Rangers have scored one run in 46 innings. So discouraging. But it has been a great ride this year. Lots better than anyone ever dreamed.
Very busy Saturday for me. Going to work part time job for 3 1/2 hours, then going to watch Eddie's debut as a starting quarterback in flag football. After that, Alex's birthday party. Then the Ballpark for a Mercy Me concert, followed by the Rangers. Then home by about 10PM probably.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
