Jani, I'm treading lightly here, but pork rinds? Yes, they have protein in them, but golly, they're nothing but fried fat. Literally!  They were a big deal for folks on Atkins, but remember, Dr Atkins died of a heart attack!!!

Please, please, PLEASE find a better source of protein then pork rinds.

Yes, I think  your intake might be the cause of your stand still. Not enough calories, and not the right kind, can be as bad if not worse then too many!

Hope you don't take offense by my comments, only trying to help

No offense taken.  That's why I come here.  For constructive criticism.  The pork rinds gave me satisfactiion for my need for crunch.  I don't think I know how to eat right yet.  I'm trying.  I'm thinking I'm going to go back to two protein drinks a day and some sort of lean protein meat.  I know I should be learning to get my proteins from foods, but it's hard.  I've been eating peanuts too for protein and beef jerky.  Am I going at this wrong?  My Dr. said 700-900 calories a day and I'm usually staying right around there.  I wonder what happens to my body if I don't get in enough proteins.

Try to find some turkey pepperoni at the store. It is 70 calories and 9 grams of protein for 17 slices. Take the slices, put them between a couple of layers of paper towels and nuke them for about 30 seconds.....maybe 45 depending on your microwave. They get super crunchy and crispy and satisfies my need to crunch.
Peanuts are okay, but almonds are better, according to my nut. They are high in fat, as are peanuts, but it is monounsaturated fat, which is the good kind.

You don't EVEN want to go to where you aren't getting enough protein.....not only will it mess with your hair and nails, your body needs protein on a cellular level. Let me take that back...it DEPENDS on protein for all aspects of your body. B-12 is ONLY found naturally in animal protein, hence the need for us to supplement. Gosh, I could go on and on.

you are so early out that it's very, very difficult for you to get all of the required protein in without supplements. Your pouch just isn't big enough for you to get that much volume in. As you go down the road you might get in enough from food alone, but it will be some time yet. I really reccommend you drink at least one a day.

700-900 cals a day is where I was at for the first 6 months or so of my journey. I kept my calorie ration at 50% protein 30% carb and 20% fat. It's a good ratio, at least it was for me.

Take care....gotta run to work!

Thanks alot for the advise Susan.  I have to run to KMart right now.  maybe I'll look in their 'food' stuffs and see if they have turkey pepperoni.  I remember buying it when I was on weigh****chers and it wasn't too bad.  I'll try it nuked, and I'll keep on with the protein shakes.
Again, people on OFF come thru!

It is what it is.
