What's new Friday?

Not much going on in my corner of the map.  Today is suppose to be my day off but.... the father was asked to work and he needed to say yes....  $$$  does it for most of us.

I got a call late last night.... my son, the one home from Iraq, called and wants to go out to lunch.  Yippeeee.  I rarely get one on one with him.  I asked him to set aside a day that we could just have lunch and chat.   That's today  ! ! ! 

Weather was cool and overcast yesterday which  made my errand running easier.  Today is suppose to be warmer and sunny.  Gotta luv those fall days when the leaves start to change.

Sorry to hear about Mary, George, I can only imagine how disappointed she is.

With cool, cold weather, Eileen, movies and books sound like a wonderful way to vacation.

Hmmm  can't remember what else I was going to comment on....  OTS...  Old Timers Syndrome.

Bummer mood right now.  I came down yesterday because my son needed me to take him in for his outpatient surgery.  Lastnight the surgery department didn't call him so I told him he should call there and verify.  Well, finally, this morning he called to verify.  Turns out today is just a consult appointment.  He was really disappointed because he had taken off today and tomorrow, plus I came down 6 days earlier than I'd have had to.  I don't leave on my trip to PA until next Wednesday, so now I'm wasting 5 days down here.  I could probably have had my cable installed and my new garage door installed.  I'm bummed, he's really pi$$ed at himself cuz when he takes time off he doesn't get paid.
What a beautiful fall day today.  Sunny and breezy.

Hey Eileen - that's what they call a staycation now!   And they aren't all bad at all!  I could use one.  Oh, that's right.  I'm off starting Tuesday.   That's my "prep" day, where I take the drink that cleans me out for my surgery the next day.  7:30 on Wednesday, my doctor will operate. 

I work in Human Resources and it's a busy place.  They got paperwork back from the doctor and were surprised I am only scheduled to be off for 2 weeks.  However, I can always extend that.   I don't have enough sick leave to cover it beyond that - used some to take care of my mom in her last days, some with my husband's surgeries, and a bunch last Dec., January with my knee replacement! 

I work 4 days a week, 8 hours a day, and it's plenty.  Except for the paycheck. When I worked full-time, it was a little easier to squeeze the bills out of it!

Anyway... love my weekends and this one is no exception.  It's my wedding anniversary today.  10 years!
