What's New Wednesday..

Chili is a staple of mine. I have it almost every day. I make a big pot and freeze half. I have a bowl with cheese & onions for lunch. It helps keep my bloodsugars in check. That and my daily dose of oatmeal... lol
And the cold........... oh yes, I don't get as cold as you ( and I don't want to) but boy its a different kind of cold...... I dread the cold of winter....

just a quickie- i got a shoe on and it (the act of putting the shoe on) hurts like a SOB...taking my flip flops in case....not a great start to what will be a rough day at work....
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I had to chuckle over the "flip flops." When I first moved to Hawaii I would call them flip flops, too. In Hawaii they are called "slippers" Ånd things like shopping carts are called "wagons." Slowly but surely I'm acquiring the lingo of the islands.....you will too.
I hope things get "much mo betta" for you, my friend.

karen-maui and otherwise!--i grew up calling them flip flops and michael intro'd me to slippas in hawaii --so i know the term-but on here i figured you would be the only who would know i wasn't wearing my bedroom slippers to work!!!!!
as for thongs-nope-that's an uncomfy looking underwear piece...not my style!!!
and who the heck named them Zorri sandals?????? i had NO CLUE what those were when i would see advertised til i looked in a store -Ohio term????
personally; i can't wait to buy one of those darling signs to hang outside our door "Please remove slippers before entering and no take mo' better ones when leave"...
i am counting and it's still waaaaaaaay over 100 days--tooooooooooo long....slow but sure...that's my mantra now.....

good morning everyone
im back in New Jersey after a lovely vacation in NC visitng my son.
im always excited to go, and then sad when i come home. mike has
been out of work since end of June and I worry about him finding a job. i
know this is something many of us and our families have been facing in
recent times.
anyway, we took him shopping and tried to see that his immediate needs
are taken care of.
now back to reality, i.e. work. nothing ever changes there, my boss is still
crazy and we never seem to solve any issues there, they just go on and on.
i am grateful though that i have a job, and basically i can work the hours i need
from week to week and that is a good thing
im trying to get me back into shape. i dont feel well and saw my primary doctor
yesterday and will go for some blood work soon. then she wants me to see
the gastro doc about some issues i have. then its also time for the ob/gyn
checkup and the eye doctor. grrrrrr i hate all that stuff, but it must be done
anyway, hugs to all in need, i wish the best for everyone, always

Millie....I have noticed you have been pretty quiet lately. I am so glad to see that you started the thread today!!!!
My prayers continue for you and your family.
As for me...my doctor's appointment yesterday was interesting...I don't have strep throat or pneumonia so that is good. However, she thinks I may have Whooping Cough. What the heck....too much whoopee or what??
It is a warm beautiful morning...NOT...31 degrees with a high of 58 today....I am sooooo not ready for this!! I hate being all bundled up. I love my shorts and tank tops!!
Jamie and Gracie made it back home safely. I always worry when they are traveling. Jamie said the funeral was sad but Andrews's family made it fun too. Such a sad loss of another Hero!! Andrew will be missed by many!
I have a dental appointment today at 1:00. I chipped a piece off one of my molars and need to go in and get it fixed....UGH!!!
I best get to my job....plenty to do today!!

Taking a short break at work.....
working on last Banker's Edge course this morning....Sexual Harrassment....very interesting....and of course there will be a test at the end.
Have a sore left eye -- not sure what is going on there. Have my annual appt with eye doc next Tuesday, hope I can hold out till then.
Supposed to be sunny today and tomorrow, but still only highs in the low 50's.
Have ground turkey and some sausage thawing in the refrigerator to make chili this afternoon....will use some of my fresh tomatoes in it.
Back to class now - have a great day everyone.
