I am so sorry George. That is a sad loss for all.

Plans for the weekend - a family get together. Just the female aunts and cousins are gathering. My uncle bought an old church which we often use for family events. Dad had 7 brothers and one sister; they all had at least 3 kids, the kids have had kids, and even more - so don't ask me how MANY there will be on Sunday. LOTS & lots.

Shower done, hair done, make-up on, time to eat breakfast and scoot.     Hula Hoop

Prayers go out fo all.
I have not started the fall clean up.  I was going to do some this weekend but it is supposed to be so nice tomorrow I thought I would spend one last day at the beach.  I was there after leaving work  yesterday (my early day, off at 1:30) and enjoyed a wonderful day sitting and talking with my mother.  It was only in the high 70s so I wore shorts and didn't swim.  The water was only about 78 or 80 degrees.  Not too bad but I prefer it in the mid 80s.  Anyway, tomorrow is supposed to be low 80s and I am going again.  I can do yard work next weekend.  DH will be golfing I am sure.  Dinner out with hubby, church on Sunday if I don't get lazy.  Maybe I will do some trimming and such then.

George, I'm so sorry to hear your daughter had a miscarriage.  Your family is in my prayers.

We finally have phone and internet service at home again after it being out for over a week.  The tech says it's a temporary fix and they will have to access our yard to dig and lay a new line.  That should be fun with George's garden, a cement patio, and wooden deck.

This weekend is the Gretna Heritage Fest.  We're hoping to go tonight, Sat. and Sun. - Chicago, The Guess Who, Jo De Messina, Amanda Shaw, and lots of great local bands as well.  We won't mention the wonderful food.  Last year they did have somethings I especially liked and didn't feel guilty eating - grilled pork on a skewer and a fruit and cheese plate.

The past two weekends we went fishing.  One weekend with daughter, SIL, and Gabe, the next with son and Ethan.  Caught our limit both weekends.  Ethan caught me - literally - caught my finger with a hook.  Luckily we had our own nurse on board who fixed me up.

Hope everyone is doing well, and I promise to try to check in more often at least while we have internet at home.  Right now I'd better get back to work before I get busted.

Mike tells a story about his dad taking taking the 3 boys fishing when they were young. Mike's the middle of 3 and they were about 8,10, and 12 at the time. Jack, the youngest, leaned back to cast a long cast visualizing catching a big one. . . . He did! His dad's NOSE! As he cast and hooked Charlies's nose he starting screaming "stop!" Mike, 50  years later, still can't help but chuckle when he remembers! Can't even imagine trying to get a line in the water with 3 boys to bait, untangle, and heaven forbid if they catch something: unhook, clean etc. Plus retrieving said boys from the water, rocks, etc! And I'm sure they were hungry as soon as they got there, because I always am!

One of my favorite songs ever is American Woman.  I don't understand why it is my favorite, because one of my most serious girlfriends broke up with me by singing "You're no good for me, I'm no good for you, Gonna look you right in the eye, Tell you what I'm gonna do.  I'm gonna leave."

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

George, that was really cruel.  Maybe it's your favorite song because you know deep down you are rid of her.  She did you a huge favor in the long run, you were free to meet the love of your life.  God does work in mysterious ways.

I don't look at it as cruel.  It was just an important point in my life.  Her and I remained friends after the breakup.  So much so, that when I was in basic training for the Air Force I called her at least once a week.  I even introduced Mary to her when I went home on leave from Spain.  She was a strange sort, but really had a big heart.

And yes, I did meet the love of my life.  And the love of my life also brought me to God.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
