The FRIDAY morning WHAT'S NEW REVUE!!!!
Good Morning Geoge and Friends,
My condolences to your family George. Even if not planned it doesn't take long to get excited about a baby.
I'm finally starting to feel human again. Still coughing a bit at night time and tired before the day is done but much better than this time last week. If I had caught this bug this week I doubt if they would have let me on the plane. I am taking a mask to wear if I have a coughing spell.
Just about as ready as I can get. I leave to pick up my friend tomorrow morning. She lives 2 hours west of me on the way to Seattle. We'll do a bit of shopping at outlets on the way, have an early dinner and check into the hotel where we'll leave our car for 14 days. We have to be at the airport at 4am on Sunday which will be just fine with me. But then we don't leave until 7am. 5.5 hours to JFK and then another 8.5 to Milan. . .
Wish I had a "knockout pill" to take. I do have a few old pain pills from knee surgery but don't know if they have enough "zip" left in them to do anything. May try one tonight to see and take along for an emergency.
I do have Dramamine and it used to make me really sleepy but most of these now say "non drowsy" formula on them.
Need to go get more American cash today. Had some earlier in the week but it's disappeared! Cash in my pocket is always dangerous.
I'll try to email a few times. Several of the hotels have business centers so hopefully with my weired sleeping hours I'll be able to catch a vacant computer for a few minutes.
You all take care and I'll report back in October 18th. Ciao! (Don't know if I spelled that right or not. Copied some conversation and "get by" phrases to study on the plane!)

I am so jealous...I can't even get out of St. Cloud!!
Jamie sent me a pic of Grace doing dishes in her little apron...she looks so cute!! Gracie and Jamie both love their aprons....I haven't gotten mine from Jamie yet...too much going on...I will get it soon!!
Love ya....hugs....connie d
Connie,
I plan to do some apron making this winter. I have my sewing machine upstairs in the bonus room right under a window that lets in lots of light. I have tons of material just waiting to decide who it "belongs" to. I can't resist buying fabrics at thrift stores.
I figure Hannah and Clara will need aprons for their 2nd birthdays!
Connie, glad to hear that your mending well and feeling better. I know the "bug" was something that you certainly didn't need.
I'm figuring that Nic has that green "babe magnet" stuffed with females after school about every day. Tell him not to forget to open a book once in a while. (That is something other than a care repair manual!!"

Nic's car is another situation....he wants to drive it but it is not running right now. He hasn't been driving it yet this school year or most of the summer as far as that goes. Something with the engine. Travis is trying to work on it but money is tight with all the medical stuff happening. Nic is disappointed but he understands. What a great kid! Wish I could help them more...I do what I can. Nic misses his "Babe Magnet" !!!
Love ya much...hugs....connie d
Good morning George and everyone.....
George I am so sorry for your loss....that is so sad.
My prayers are going out to them and you and Mary too.
Nothing new here....rainy and cold....arrrrrggggg! It was supposed to get to a high if 54 today .....now they are saying 48....nasty!
I only have to work two hours today and then my weekend begins. Things have slowed down some. We are on a hold right now and can't put any new clients in the program. I have a wating list of people that I will contact when the freeze is over.
Nothing exciting planned for the weekend. I will be watching the Twins play of course.
Have a good day everyone...keep warm you people in the cold states!!
Prayers to those in need.
Love and hugs to all....connie d
So sorry about the miscarriage. We had one in our family not too long ago. My nephew's wife (could I call her a niece-in-law?) Jill, who lives in the Denver area, had a miscarriage at nine weeks. We didn't even know she was pregnant, although my brother, my nephew's dad, did. Apparently, they had been trying since February. This is the kid that NEVER wanted children. Obviously, Jill has changed his mind. Which is good ... Gary needs grandchildren. Jill wrote a touching blog post on it ... would make you cry. The baby just quit developing in the uterus, no big cramping or anything, nothing dramatic. She went to the doctor for a checkup and the doctor told her the baby was dead. So they did a D&C.
I talked to Brenda this morning again but I'll write a separate post on that.
It's dreary and raining this morning, only 53 degrees. I guess the nice fall weather couldn't last forever. I thought about going to a movie today but the movies I wanted to see at the cheap theater didn't get there. If I want to see them, I'll have to pay full price or wait a few more weeks for the cheap theater. And I'm not in the mood to go out today. I'd stay in jammies, but I have to get my trash can from the curb (today was garbage day), so I'll have to put on sweats at least). I want to get some of my Halloween stuff out today ... I've been meaning to do this all week. Today is the day!
Tomorrow, I may get out for awhile to the farmers market and a local winery. It's only about three miles away, just opened and sounds very interesting. They open at noon on Saturdays. Maybe I'll do a movie then. Don't know.
Oh well, I should get off. I hear Chicago didn't get the Olympics. I'm sure there are some Chicagoans who are very happy about that. I'm not surprised, really ... I thought Rio would get it.
