At Last ......

 

AT LAST 

I have some good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I finally have a date with a surgeon for an RNY in Toronto on November 24.  This has been a long time in coming and the phone call telling me of the date was the best phone call I've had in a long time!  WHEW!  I am really pleased  (I'm Canadian, so don't ask me to emote too much  LOL)
And, I received the results of the echocardiogram and nuclear stress test, and I passed. 
Anyway, it's been a good week for me.

I'm so sorry to hear about the sadness and the trauma and the ill health in the lives of others (and significant others) on this forum and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. 

You, on this forum, are the first people I have told about my RNY date  -  thanks for always being here.

You have waited so long, so I'm so happy for you, Margaret. It's good to have good news for once. Congrats!

Congratulations !! How exciting.....I know our waiting lists are long.......which surgeon do you have?  Mine is Dr John Hagen & I had my Lap RnY at Humber River Hospital.

I have Dr. Hagen, too  -  same hospital and same procedure.

He really is wonderful and caring...even smiles sometimes!  But he came to see me several times(2-4) times a day when I was in the hospital after surgery. Again, congratulations!

Oh Margaret! Let us jump and down for you! Nov 24 is close to "our" Thanksgiving Day. Can I declare November 24 "Margaret's Day of Thanksgiving"?  You'll never quite look at that day the same again. Oh, to think how much better you'll feel when the winter of 2009-2010 is over! You'll be like a beautiful butterfly emerging from its cocoon! You'll be needing a whole new wardrobe come spring for sure. I tend to hibernate in the winter anyway so it's so easy to visualize you coming out in all your rediscovered glory. We know you're lovely on the inside. You're always so friendly and supportive. For you to be able to get out there and really enjoy life again like you were meant to will be so glorious! I'm excited for you. Can you tell????

Yes, I can't wait until the weight starts to fall off.  I have always been a clothes horse and, of course, buying my clothes in large clothing shops has limited my style!!   It will be pure bliss to buy what I want, in the colour I want and the style that suits me instead of what I have had to wear for so long.  And to be able to move, stand, walk with less pain and more ease  -  almost unimaginable.
