At Last ......

last nite; i saw your post but was too self absorbed in our health issues to try to even read the news- wish i had!! it might have lifted me a bit sooner!!!

oh gosh--the news is awesome- my own approval  came right around Thanksgiving time  tho my surgery was not til the following march--(things can be slow here too!)

will you be able to satisfy the needs for your supervisor with this month + notice?? i know that has been a concern of yours-not leaving your super or students in the lurch...

ah dear one!!!!!!! i am excited for you as well tho it is still kinda early in the day to be jumping for joy or emoting!!! i am so glad that you have become part of our family and i wish you all that is good- i feel your joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!hugs!!!!!!!!

Thank you Margo for being excited for me while you're in the midst of so much pain.  I am excited, too.  I think that my boss will be okay with this.  The semester will have just three weeks left after I leave for surgery, and he'll have a number of weeks to hire someone before then. I'll probably return after Christmas, which will give me several weeks to recuperate, and with the holiday in there, I won't miss much, and I'll be ready to teach the new semester.

 Oh you have a date for an RNY - I just read the "I finally have a date with a surgeon"  ...
I was going to say, "NO NO" ...  You don't want to date a surgeon.   They are self-obsessed, arrogant *****s most of the time.

But for RNY - that's ok.   CONGRATULATIONS!!

Well congrats, Margaret.....it's certainly been well worth the wait, eh?

Before you know it, the surgery will be over and you will be on your way to a healthy, happy new life. 

We applaud you for your patience in this journey, you've been a good example of the saying "all good things come to those who wait".

And we feel so lucky to have you share this good news with us first!

Margaret.....CONGRATULATIONS !!  You go girl!!  November is a very special month.  I had Lap Rny November 19, 2008 and remember so well how excited I was to get my date for surgery.  A new start at life is about to happen for you as it did for me.  I have lost a total of 116.6 pounds and that is 7 pounds below target weight.  I will go see my surgeon next month for my 0ne year checkup.  I feel great and have gotten rid of nearly all of my prescription drugs and feel 20 years younger.
(I am 66 going to be 67 Nov. 15th)

I feel excited for you as well.  I had my surgery Nov 5/08 and it was the best thing I ever did.  58 years old and feeling crappy to 59 and feeling much better and healthier!!

Thanks for your good wishes and for saying that I add something to this board.  I often feel very much like the "odd person out" for all kinds of reasons (my own, not due to anyone on the board), so it feels nice to be thought of as someone who contributes.
