I have several sewing projects I need to stay with too. My son gave me two old army blankets, the green wool, and I'm making him a jacket from them. Our annual meeting for the sewing guild is coming up soon and I'm in charge of coordinating with the hotel. Does keep one busy. I do like this kind of busy.
Have a great day and make it a fun one not matter what you are doing.

Hi all,
Just dropping in to let you guys know that I am doing better. The test results are coming in and while my labs are not concerning anyone, they are really upset at what they are seeing in my pouch and small intesting and in my stomach. So, I am looking at some surgery to fix but they are not really certain how or what they are going to do. I am heading down to my wls sugeon and he is going to make the final decision on what has to be done. In the meantime, I am fighting dehydration and malnutrition. The only good thing that has come out of all of this is that they now can see that it isn't mental. I am eating and drinking, it's just the stuff is not getting absorbed or I am getting so sick from it all that I am throwing it back up.
Anyway, for now, I am living on carafate liquid and priolosec, which is what I was living on before but now I am taking it more often. As far as the liquids go, I am on the old time sippy diet and avoiding regular food for now. Just full and clear liquid. It's a full time job just drinking all day long. LOL. One of my students asked me what was brewing in my coffee pot; she said it smelled so good: I said, chicken broth, want some? At that, she said, gross. Hey, I cannot drink the coffee, well I can, but I need to use every available moment to get liquids and nourishment in.
I was so sorry to hear that Linda is missing and that Brenda is having such a horrible time. I guess if it was smooth sailing for us all the time, then it wouldn't be real life; it would be TV.

Keep fighting to find a solution, my dear! When do you see Dr Merriman? Did you look into seeing a doc here in LR? There are a couple of really good ones and they're so much closer than yours. But, I do think it's wise to see the doc that did the surgery originally, it's just too bad he's so far away.
Take care and come let us know what's happening when you can.
Susan
When all of this first began, I tried to get the wls up here to see me; however, since I was having problems, he wouldn't touch me. I called a couple of others to just have them follow me so that I wouldn't have to drive so far for tests, but they would not get the cost of the surgery, only office visits, and they didn't want to do that much work for very little pay. So, there is a surgeon here and a gastroenterologists who are taking care of me and doing the test and consulting with my wls and I am heading down there in a couple of weeks. My pouch is one giant ulcer and the stoma, because of the ulcers and scar tissue, has tightened up. They dialated it some but were too cautious to stretch it too much with my pouch in such a bad way. My small intesting has severe ulcerations and they think that all of the ulcers are a result of me just getting a bad case of ulcerative colitis and because of me having this pouch and redesign, well, the ulcers came as a result not because of; if that makes sense. I'm sure Merriman will fix me up.
Yeah, on the being happy they found something; otherwise, it was like I was crazy. I kept telling them that it was hurting more and more and that I was less and less able to eat and drink and the doctor and nutritionists kept saying, you need to modify how you eat and youneed to focus and make your eating times all about the food and not do anything else and it was just awful. You do not know how many hours I spent dreading going and getting weighed because they looked at me like I brought all of this on myself.
Anyway, now that they have seen my insides from top to bottom, and it is in three D and in color, the evidence is there. When I saw it, I thought, oh man, that looks bad, but then he showed another slide and another slide and it kept getting worse and worse and thenI said, so what exactly is it. The gastro man said, it looks like your pouch, intestine, and stomach has been burned with battery acid. I said, I knew there was real pain. I knew it wasn't in my head.
But, now the what to do to fix it and the can it be fixed and the did I make a really bad choice to actually have this surgery. Okay, enough. This is what it is and can be fixed. I know it can.

LOL - swinging chickens for you! Good luck on the showing.
Our granddaughter is coming over today and spending the night. We call it our sleepover party - lol - She'll be 11 in February, so is getting very mature now. I love it when she stays over....I'm really looking forward to being able to spend some quality time with her.
Prayers and peaceful wishes to those in need.
Blessings,
Debbie
