The Monday What's New Revue

Good morning all.  I find it curious that every day during the week, someone starts the thread normally by 2 in the morning my time.  Except Monday.  You gals go to bed early on Sunday and actually get some sleep I guess.

It was a good weekend for me, as reported on the What's New threads.  I think I may have actually posted on both days, highly unusual for me.

Another work day for me.  Going home in less than 2 hours to get some sleep.  I am skipping the part time job to go to a Bible study, but will be going to the full time job on time.

What's up with you?

good morning george  and everyone to follow later this morning.

my weekend was busy as I am running back and forth to the hospital.
Mom is still there and they are trying to find out what exactly is going on
with her. she is a little more alert than earlier in the week, but still very
confused which is alarming to say the least.  anyway, they are doing another
test today and maybe that will give us some answers.

this running every day is killing my ankle and my sister and I decided last
night, we may have to alternate days, she is getting worn out also, and we
do not know what the next week will bring so we are trying to conserve our
engery a bit.

i watched a little baseball and football with bob yesterday after i got home,
but i kept on dozing off on the couch.  he is happy about the yankees and the
giants.

i wish everyone a good week, and extra hugs and good thoughts to all those
in need, so many of us seem to be needing them right now.

be safe and well, jacki

jacki i think alternating days is a great idea- that way you each don't drain your own energies so much, nor do you totally neglect your own household duties...it's so hard as a caregiver--the wanting to do everything you can to make your loved one comfortable, wanting to "be there" when the doctors come by , not wanting to miss a minute just in case it could be the last.

after what i have gone thru with my ankle lately; i can well imagine yours must truly be testing you!!! your accident was much more serious! please take care of you as well!!!

know that your family is in my prayers.....hugs!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Jacki, just remember, you can't take care of your mother, without taking care of you.  The alternating days is an excellent idea, making sure she has a fresh person each day, while giving you and your sister both time to take care of daily family stuff.

Good morning, ya'll.

The kids all have today off.  My DIL is wanting to take me to a movie today.  She knows I've just been moping around the house.  I just don't feel like doing anything.  A movie should be a good distraction.

My DH is getting pretty good at doing the laundry and the dishwasher.  He does those things when I am in OR babysitting, but he has never done it while I'm here!  I could get spoiled!

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

chuckling....  I doubt you would get spoiled.  Just enjoy the love your family is giving you.  Rest and take care of yourself.

Make sure we get a movie review.  I look for reviews from people I respect so I don't waste my money on a dud.

Morning George and all:
I've been awake since 5:30 but didn't get up until 6.....

It's Columbus Day, so no mail today.  The Bank doesn't close so I will be going in to work in a while.

Rummage sale this week at my church....took my five boxes down yesterday afternoon and will go in and help sort tomorrow, and help with the sale Thursday afternoon for a couple hours.  We always have good crowds and make pretty good $$$.

Time to get busy on the bike......have a great Monday!

Our church is having a silent auction to benefit the music ministry this week.  It will run from Wednesday to Sunday.  Last year they had a couple of pecan pies that went for over $50 each.  Plus there is so much handmade crafts.  Last year we got a bulletin board that was handmade by one of the guys in my Sunday School class.

Good morning George & all,

I have been UNinvited to speak at the bariatrics seminar. First the surgeon invited me and asked to get volunteers from the group. I sent a list of names and waited for a response.

The 'advisory corporation' decided they wanted a very specific demographic representaion - age, type of surgery, success, and distance traveled to receive surgery. Since I am technically a hospital employeee, it was decided that it would be a conflict of interest for me to speak.

That's fine with me. Since this is the first seminar, there are plenty of bugs to work out. I'd rather NOT be a bug
