Jani,
I DO feel wonderful, and it does keep getting better!
Let me tell you, I miss my flip flops already, and even though it's cooler than normal right now, for the life of me, I just cannot imagine putting them on right now.  I am so cold most of the time, and that is coming from someone who was constantly on fire before, and not in a good way either!  But hey, the way I see it - I can layer now to keep warm.  The other alternative to cooling myself down when I was overweight would not have been pretty - trust me!
Good luck to you too - I'm sure that you'll do just as well!

Been there, done that (with the heat thing)  And totally understand not being able to cool down.  Not pretty at all.
This is quite a journey we're on isn't it?

Hi George and my OFF family:

It's 38 degrees here ... brrr! Really cold and my bones don't like it at all. When I talked with my mom yesterday, she was complaining about the cold ... said she can't handle it anymore, yet she still wears short-sleeve shirts in the winter. She's strange! What can I say? I don't take after her, that's for sure. I have to be bundled up.

Made my chili yesterday but it's kinda runny so I'll go get some tomato paste today and try to thicken it. I have to go to the chiropractor this morning. My right side really hurts. My right and all the way down my right hip down to my toes. I didn't sleep well at all last night. I get an injection in my back next week Monday, and boy, do I need it. I'm going to try to get a flu shot this morning, too, at the urgent care center. Plus I need to get some cards ... I have a buy one, get one free coupon at Hallmark. I need to get cards for a couple of October birthdays and a sympathy card for a former coworker whose sister died a couple of weeks ago. Her sister was 56 ... died of complications of the flu (not swine flu, the regular flu).

I didn't do much yesterday, just hung around the house ... watched the three baseball games, one football game ... none of the baseball games wound up like I wanted ... Yankees won (boo!), Angels won (boo! ... not that I cared about the Red Sox, just wanted the series to last a little longer), Phllies won ... want the Rockies to win. Connie, sorry about the Twins ... especially since they played the Yankees ... really hate the Yankees, but boy, did the Twins run themselves out of a rally. The Bears didn't play so didn't have anyone to root for.

Got a litter box dumped and laundry done, so those were my big chores for the day. Read two magazines ... the Sports Illustrated story on the girl from Texas who won the state track meet by herself two years in a row was very interesting.

Well, not much else happening. Got to go get dressed and go to the chiropractor.

Have a good day.

I had heard the basics about the girl from Texas, but until the SI came out, had not read about the background stuff.  Very well written story.

I get my cards at ACO Hardware.  They're 2 for $1.00, or at the Dollar Store.  They have some pretty nice ones too.  If I find a sympathy card I like, I usually buy 3 or 4 of them.  Usually I won't be sending them to the same person.  Gotta watch that almighty dollar!

Seems like I'm buying too many sympathy cards ... now today I found out about the former coworker getting killed in the car accident. He was single, had no family that I know of ... just his newspaper family, like me. He lived at that newspaper. One of his coworkers called the vending machine his partner ... in jest, of course ... I had to chuckle at that; Russ did spend a lot of time at the vending machines when I worked with him.

Just seems like so many of my friends and/or former coworkers are dying lately. And they're all too young to go. I really can't afford to lose any more friends.

Good Morning George & All!

I guess there is something to be said about getting a little bit of sleep. . .  I myself went to bed at 9 to watch television, well I woke up to the television watching me at about 9:45 p.m., shut it off, rolled over and slept rather soundly until Dillinger woke me up at 5:15 in the morning, seems he had an upset tummy, so I cleaned it up, let him out and got back into bed, while it was still warm between the blankets.

It was mighty chilly this morning, though not as bad as in some of the places I was reading about on here, OMG, snow already, I feel for you Connie. I am not ready for heat, I want one month of non-excess gas and electric bill, seeing as my yearly budget went over by $500 this year, though I do have to say with all the construction and now the new space (which is well insulated) I expected it to go over some, but $500 was a lot, though I hope next year to see an improvement since I had insulation blown into the walls of the old part of the house, as in my area, houses built prior to 1970something were not usually insulated, so we'll just see what that does for my heating expenses this year, that along with the fact that supposedly natural gas is going to be 1/3 lower this year, I'm sure they will find a way not to allow the consumer to feel any relief. . .

So my weekend was busy, what else is new. . .  Saturday morning I attended my grandson's soccer game, from there I went and got a new hairdo and I like it a lot, it's shorter than I've worn my hair in a while, but will be a lot easier to care for, as well as it looks fuller and healthier, when I have a new picture, I'll post it.   After that I ran into Target to look for a wrap to go with the dress I was wearing to the wedding.  I have to say that the dress I bought on Friday night for the wedding, which was a bargin I found in Marshall's for 39.99, same dress in Macy's was $158 and I was not sure about the dress, but when I got home and tried it on, I must say that when I tried on that dress and looked in the mirror, I said I felt pretty and it's the first time in my life I can ever remember thinking a thought like that. . .  anyway, I found a wrap that worked with the dress in my drawer at home and the wedding was nice and I got lots of compliments on the dress and the new do. . .  when I got home, I did not want to take off the dress, so guess I'll wear it next weekend to the other wedding I'm going to and I told Tony that me and him have to go somewhere special so I can wear the dress with him!

Speaking of Tony, his Mom fell yesterday and fractured and dislocated her shoulder.  His Mom is 86 and lives with his sister, who works two jobs and recently his Mom has fallen a number of times, well yesterday she told them she does not think she can be alone anymore, a big step and so today they are looking into an alternative living situation for her where she can have constant care.

Well I went on and on here, but that's what happens when I stay away too long.   Hope you all have a wonderful day and for those of you in need, I am praying and sending positive thoughts for you and even those with no special needs, I am thinking about you too!

Hugs, Laureen
