Hi Debbie,

Glad to hear your shingles is not as bad but sorry you have had it twice in such a short time. You sure do have a lot on your plate from what you described. Is your BSN program full time? I cannot imagine that it is in addition to your full time job. You are so lucky to have your parents nearby, just to have them at all. I miss mine. Best of luck finding a person to rent your rooms. That would be a challenge for me to have someone share my house. I know what you mean by the blue period, hope the meds kick in soon.

I posted yesterday with the only updates I have about my life so won't repeat.

Howdy back to you, Susan. Hope all is well. I saw an earlier post of yours referring to your being 3 years post op. Me too, as of 11-28-09. I am trying to get my weight coming off once again before that date.

Hi Debbie and my OFF family:

Glad to see you here again. Sorry to hear about your shingles, but glad they weren't so bad. I have had several friends who had shingles ... one was Bruce, who also has Hodgkins and is dying, so the shingle**** him especially hard with his weakened immune system. The other was my friend Mary Kay, who has several problems ... heart problems and diabetes among them. She had pneumonia at the time, then got shingles. She was really hurting. It's her birthday today and she invited me over, but it's my only day off, so I'm not getting out of my jammies. I will change into cleaner, warmer ones, though. Definitely time to haul out the winter nightshirt. I'm really cold. I have the fireplace on and and I'm still freezing.

I worked last night, of course, and I didn't have much to do for the news desk, so I offered my services to sports too. Bad idea. The sports guy, Pete, gave me a page to do (of course a lot of the stuff came in late) and then he wanted me to redo it for 3-star edition. Well, the one story wouldn't come in until after 10:30 at the earliest ... and that's optimistic ... I start at 3 and have to be out of there by 11 or get OT (and since I'm not officially authorized for sports and OT, I can't put it down on my timesheet). So I told him that, and he was a little miffed. Well, that's life. I got the page set up so all they had to do was slap the new story in the hole. How hard could that be? They have five people doing pages ... we have three doing all our pages and we have more pages. Plus, we proof all pages!

Talked to my brother Gary this morning. This week is his last on the job. He's going to see a surgeon about his back and then maybe have his surgery once he's out of work. Plus, his landlady is selling the house he lives in (it's an old house made into a duplex). Gary is taking all this fairly well. He is trying to sell his timeshare, so maybe he can get out from under that.

I have no big plans for the day. I have a pot of chili cooking in the crockpot ... it's going to be a little soupy because I don't have any tomato paste (thought I did, but I was mistaken). Smells great! Then it's laundry, litter boxes, baseball all day ... three games unless the Rockies-Phillies get snowed out again ... a very restful day. I may get up tomorrow and go to the chiropractor. I did something to my upper back, wrenched a muscle or a rib or something ... anyway, everytime I take a deep breath, it hurts.

Someone across the street is having an open house at their condo. Wonder what they're asking for it. It's one of the bigger units ... I have a smaller one, just one floor. These four units that are connected in which I live are the only one-floor units in the complex. All the other ones have two floors nad two-car garages.

Well, I need to get back to the ballgames and get some laundry started. Have a good day.

Hi Debbie, how nice to see you here today!!  Never say your busy life is drivel, you have a lot of interesting things going on!  It's exciting to see you're going back to school. I've always wanted to finish my degree, but now I'm going to wait until I'm 60 so I can get free tuition. Why not???

We're on the countdown to the arrival of Gary's sisters. Just 5 more days to go. I'll be worn out by the time they get here, though!  We got up early this morning and went to Home Depot to get plants and mulch for the front flower bed. Came home and planted mums and pansies, mulched the bed and boy, does it look better!  Yipee!!!!
Then, we came inside and started cleaning the area rug in the living room. It's 5x7 and we used one of those small carpet cleaners that are meant for stairs and furniture. So, between bending and stooping outside, then being on my hands and knees doing the carpet, I shouldn't be able to move tomorrow. We'll see!

Gary brought sunflower seeds back into the house. I have a love/hate relationship with those dang things. I love them....but I've gained 3 lbs this week from all of the salt in them. So no more sunflower seeds for me. Couldn't even get my rings on this morning. AGH!!

Okay, that's it for me. Back to the grindstone. Debbie, I hope things go well for you and you come visit more often. Hope everyone else has a good remainder of the weekend!

Susan
