Hey Eileen
I just finished Late Edition; a Love Story by Bob Greene. I got it from the public library. It is not so much a story of his career as it is a look at the impending demise of newspapers. A beautiful, not gooey look.
I hadn't realized that he is just a year or two older than I am. My respect for writers made me think that he was older.
My newspaper history is working on the switchboards ant the Detroit News in the early seventies. Dad was an electrician there for thirty-some years so I had some familiarity with the building and the process.
Anyway, read it if you haven't already.
