What's New THURSDAY?
Good morning Nancy and my OFF friends!
Nancy, what a rich life you have! I know the situation with your mom lays heavy on you. It's such a rough time for all of us facing issues with our elders.
Your hypnosis couse sounds amazing!! I'm a firm believer in it, losing over 100# once with it. My son did well with it, too. Keep me posted on how it goes, I'll be interested!
Our company has come and gone and we had a wonderful time! I was soooooooo right about Big Sister Bea (the Martha Stewart clone) checking out the house. She commented on how even my bathroom drawers were clean. Now, what in the heck was she doing in there? See.....I was right, and Gary said I had gone "overboard" with the cleaning....HA!!!
Today is the photo shoot for the magazine. I'm loaded up with equipment and product, and of course, it's raining cats and dogs today! Not sure how it all will go, but I'll let you know when I get home. I'm planning on putting on a pot of beans and making beer bread for dinner and just relaxing the rest of the day. I sure can use it!
Hope everyone is well and happy, good thoughts and prayers go out to those in need. I've missed being here, but life is back to "normal", or some vision of it.

Hi everyone,
Well today I start my day by taking a friend to the doctors to have stitches removed from her eyes from cataract surgery. I think we are going to stop for breakfast first.
I went to my surgeons office for an appointment and I thought I hadn't lost enough weight but at the last few days I have dropped a few pounds. She said I am doing well and she would rather me lose it slow. They told me to stop drinking shakes, but my hair is falling out and they told me to add one a day. She wants me to get all my protein from food. Hard to do when eating a half of cup. She raised that to 3/4 of a cup now. She also said to add snacks like cheese or celery with peanut butter. I was eating no snacks before. I still have to add more fruit and veggies. I was too worrried about the protein.
Sorry to hear some have problems. I hope I can send you good wishes and good luck.
Nothing new around here but the weather has been beautiful the last few days. I sure wi**** could stay like that. I hate winter. So depressing. I am not a snow baby.
Well take care everyone.

Good morning, Nancy and my OFF family. I know...surprise to all with me being here early or at all for that matter.
I don't have Kayden today or tomorrow since he is going to his Great Grandma's house. I was kind of upset but Bill talked me through it and he told me that he knows his Grandma and Grandpa and he isn't going to forget us. That seemed to help but my main concern was that she is NUTS! ha ha He had 2 shots on Tuesday and so yesterday he wasn't feeling good at all. He wouldn't let me out of his sight. I gave him to Bill while I was going across the hall to help Virginia with something and as soon as I walked away he started screaming at the top of his lungs...so needless to say he went with me. I gave him Tylenol every 4 hours and by the time his Daddy came to get him he was laughing like he use to....maybe not as much but it was a start. I am sure he is going to be better today.
It feels good just having Bill and I here today. I forget sometimes how nice the quiet is...ha ha That is something that we don't have as much of when Kayden is here. He is a joy but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. He can be quite vocal. ha ha
It is cooler today. It has been for the last couple of days in the 60's but today is just the mid 50's and rain. I guess the rain is going to be here for the next several days. Oh dear, how I can't stand rain! But I guess it is better than the dreaded white stuff, isn't it? We already had a bit of that. Last week it was very wet snow flurries but it didn't stick at all. But you sure could see them. I am NOT ready for that at all!
I guess I should get moving. I have a few things to do and I have to leave early for yet another meeting at church. This is my 3rd on this week. One good thing is that we decided to make it a soup supper before the meeting (which is going to last for 5 or 6 weeks) and next month is my time to do supper. I decided to make chili for the soup supper.
I am sending love and hugs to all along with prayers being said for everyone too. Have a great day and spread the sunshine that is in your hearts!

Nancy,
Hugs and best wishes for your busy day, I posted on Eileen's thread so I won't rehash, but wanted to say hey and wish you the best with all that you have going on!

Hi all,
I am at work so will make this short. We are a bit slow this week I guess.
Not much new to report. I am doing my protein shakes again in the am. Trying to get rid of those pesky few pounds, so I can get back in the land of where I am happiest.
Tonight is Survivor and I love it. I am embarrassed to say that I do like some of the reality shows. Amazing Race is another and the only TV that Tom watches with me. He stays away from television or he isn't able to tear his eyeballs from it. He is even hypnotized by commercials. You know when commercials come on during a show and you can then talk to someone, not him...
So, take care all,
Cheryl

Reality TV is like the Enquirer , everyone watches and/or reads, but no one admits it!
To me reality TV is like an adult comic - I enjoy watching the crazy Housewives of all four States
and my favorite is Flipping Out with Jeff Lewis. I can't get enough of him.
Interesting about being hypnotized by commercials. I remember that when my son was young - probably 5, 6 years old, he would have the tv on - he might have been playing with leggos or something, no****ching, but then the sound of the commercial, even without music, would grab his attention, he would turn and then be drawn in, mesmerized by it. Back to his toys when the ads were through.
Fast forward to my dad having a stroke - being in his room with the tv on all day - him not
watching - a commercial comes on - same thing - grabbed by the music or hidden persuader noise/voices and then hypnotized til the commercials were over. After the ads, he would divert
his eyes toward me or a wall or whatever.
Interesting.

So hard dealing with aging parents, however, the alternative (not having them any more) is tough, too! You won't regret the loving care you gave her, that's for sure!
I'm doing great today, busy day at work, starting with a training session this morning that was rather intense. It went fast. Then I came back here and have eaten my turkey chili (again!) - but I do like it.
Things are getting back to normal, and no one has yet said I look like I've lost weight, although between the liquid pre-op and surgery several weeks ago, my weight is down. Guess it takes a while when you are this heavy. But, clothes are looser and I'm feeling good, so that's all that matters.
Last night we went to an art opening and it was really fun. Saw some friends there we hadn't seen and got lots of hugs. It was a nice show - the food didn't even tempt me, while in the past I would have been scarfing the delicacies right up! Yay for my RNY!

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...

Hi everybody,
I was out of the house early to see the M&M's. Mary wanted to go to the gym while Melanie was in school so I had Matthew all to myself. Melanie was NOT happy to leave.
The 100th birthday party was very nice. In one room there was a slide show of her childhood photos; in the living room there was a slide show of her 95th birthday party. Tom took pictures, will put them on a DVD and set it all to music. He's kind of handy that way.
Marcy posted a recipe for her pumpkin bread. She was kind and gave me a loaf. She forget that it should have been labeled "food porn". It is yummy!!!!
